@iori927, a master alchemist of spacious atmospheres and cut-throat drums delivers a luscious blend of techno styles on his new ‘Möbius’ EP. Scattered echoes of percussion and skippy synths introduce a dynamic, clinical sound. 

The opening track, ‘Möbius’ is a clean assimilation of arpeggiated synth and warbled rhythms that triggers a poignant sense of hope. The track strikes a balance between the blissfully nostalgic and the unknown. ‘Do Nothing’ is a heavier, subterranean track sunken by malicious basslines and expertly clunky drum patterns. The sound travels deeper, yet still carries a reiterative sense of peace with distant floods of harmony. The unnerving crescendo of density throughout the track is enthralling, building to an even more murky place, ‘Reverse Run’. IORI’s playful and digitised sound shines on this track. Dark syncopated kick drums drive this track through sludgy drones with metallic, phased chimes dispersed around the periphery. The listener is propelled into an earthy zone, buried under dark matter. 

IORI’s closing track is reinterpreted by Berghain regular @efdemin, bringing a lighter, more contorted sound. With rushing percussion and slow-motion synths, the track is transformed into a psychedelic plane, infinitely large. Around the midpoint, fast-paced acid bass seeps through the track, cementing the sound in a space void of time. A graceful reverie of IORI’s intoxicating ability to world-build.

Vinyl only live recording from my dantz festival performance. Played before inspirarional souls Lena Willikens, DVS1 & Blawan, humbled to have been part of this!

For this special warmup I tried to explore some places apart from my usual hipnotic/deep techno narrative. My goal was to show local people there is a lot to discover within electronic music, knowing there was gonna be an intense long techno journey after my performance. Felt it was the ideal place to take some risks :)

Emika joined Art Bei Ton a couple of years ago and has been delivering since then amazing music at our events. Her project Human Lesson has been attracting some of the most talented deep artists in the techno scene.

Emika Elena is a Berlin based DJ/producer and founder of HumanLessons.

Music has always been a huge part of her life, ever since she started playing piano in her family home at the age of 4, but it was the discovery of techno in her early teens that led her to become a DJ.
 
Her trademark sound is often described as "hypnotic darkness" which intersects expressions of ambient, experimental, and techno in her mixes.

She is breaking out of standards and creating a new feeling of deepness and true creativity. You can hear her authenticity carrying you to the spheres of your inner soul.

We are glad to welcome our friend Francesco Belfiore from Roma. Francesco is a Dj, live performer, producer and he specializes in modular techno. He has recently released an Ep on Semantica Records and also for the label Concrete Records. He's the founder of the labels Truth or Consequences and Save the Blessed, the latter known for releases by artists such as San Proper and The Analogue Cops. His music is distinguished by a minimal and hypnotic sound, characterized by intricate rhythms and complex sonic textures, reflecting the influences of the Berlin school and dub techno. His performances are a journey through pulsating rhythms and dark atmospheres.

Б podcast 40 / Francesco Belfiore [Semantica rec.]

Este mes de julio lo dedicaremos a estar cerca de nuestros amigos de @strikeon_music, dándole así la visibilidad que merecen a base de una tirada de podcasts protagonizada por los integrantes del colectivo/sello italiano. 

Strike On es uno de los principales proyectos techno underground con sede en la región de Le Marche, en el centro de Italia. Empezó como promotora de eventos en el año 2016 y acabó expandiéndose a sello musical y centro de artistas gráficos. Pronto el movimiento creció y reunió a personas de diferentes culturas, pasiones y estatus bailando en la misma pista, todos unidos mostrando su yo interior bajo los mismos ritmos del techno “old school”.

Parte del colectivo tiene su base en barcelona, y después del primer showcase en la ciudad Condal, el cual tuvo lugar el pasado 17 de mayo en RUSC, nos complace lanzar esta tirada de podcasts con algunos de los artistas que actuaron en el showcase.

El primer turno es para Paolo Stortini, más conocido artísticamente como @ira_notes, quien nos regala un set cargado de ritmos rotos, trepidantes y melodías envolventes.
Su pasión por la música se transforma en energía para el público y siempre ha apostado por no seguir las tendencias del momento, estando constantemente en la búsqueda de un sonido nuevo y vanguardista.
Ira Notes es un viaje sonoro en el que el tiempo y el espacio se disuelven y el cuerpo se convierte en parte de la pista de baile.
