C'est la rentrée pour Radio Mawimbi ! Comme lors de la saison précédente, on vous prépare des émissions bouillantes en compagnie des tous meilleurs diggers de la scène afro/tropicale, ainsi que des émissions "focus" afin de vous faire découvrir l'infinie richesse des musiques africaines et afro-diasporiques !

Nous inaugurons donc cette troisième saison de Radio Mawimbi sur les ondes de Rinse France avec Mr. Victor Kiswell alias "l'Indiana Jones du disque" (Gonzaï), DJ et disquaire reconnu ayant oeuvré pour le compte des plus grands, dont Gilles Peterson, Madlib ou encore Andres. Du jazz créole à la chanson populaire libanaise, des trésors des musiques de films Bollywood aux plus grands millésimes de la cumbia colombienne, la collection de Victor Kiswell ne connaît ni limite stylistique, ni frontière géographique.

Pour cette première participation à Radio Mawimbi, Victor Kiswell a préparé un mix faisant la part belle aux musiques en provenance de nos chères Antilles (gwoka, zouk, boogie), avant d'opérer un léger détour en Afrique de l'Ouest, de l'autre côté de l'Atlantique. Savoureux !

This track was one of O w l i s t aka Nitesh Jhurani's first ones since he got into producing music. It showcases his niche for sampling and the intricate ways in which he goes about it. He found the inspiration for this particular track, on a lazy day while listening to some jazz music when suddenly, something caught his ear which he felt he could sample. From there on, the track was built, with the sample as the foundation and him finding other sounds, sampled and synthesized to make the track fuller. For him, this track reflects a "lazy chill evening in a hotel room with a beer and a couple of cigarettes".

For his first drum & bass release of 2019, the eclectic producer has delivered two soul stirring cuts which we are stoked to premiere:
