LuQas is Luke Trott from Brighton UK. Known for his unique slant on psychedelic breaks, he has consistently spurned the obvious in a quest to take his music down a deeper, more fulfilling route. His tracks have resonated through underground dancefloors worldwide, gaining him a loyal global following as well as turning the heads of major international djs.

The LuQas sound has been shaped by a melting pot of experiences throughout his love affair with electronic music. Hypnotic basslines draw influence from techno, intricate synth work inspired by psy trance, tough punchy tech-funk rhythms drive his tracks along and intense, energetic build-ups reward the listener along the way.

Originally spotted by Bristol tech-breaks label Dead Famous, LuQas cut his teeth working alongside stalwarts of the scene, remixing the likes of the Robosapiens and Kraymon as well as releasing well-received originals such as Replicant (9/10 – IDJ) and Altered States, gaining significant support and Radio 1 plays along the way. He has now found his spiritual home on Broken Robot Records alongside like-minded producers; Neurodriver, Hedflux, Bad Tango and Broken Eye. His debut for the label was a scintillating remix of Neurodriver’s ‘Snake Charmer’ and he collaborated with the high-flying Hedflux on the deliciously twisted ‘Reptoid’ (8.5/10 - DJMag), which continues to form the climax of many dj’s sets, as well as finding its way into the top 5 breaks tracks on Beatport.

Alongside producing, LuQas has promoted successful nights in the South East and is currently a resident for the infamous Brighton party crew, Slackers Convention, who are set to celebrate their 10th birthday this year. His energetic DJ sets transcend genres, with breaks, progressive psy, techno and tech funk all held together by their common theme of deep, techy and pulsating rhythms. With festival appearances at Waveform and Secret Garden Party, gigs all over the UK and international DJ visits to Russia and Croatia, LuQas continues to feed his passion for making dark, psychedelic beats and thrives on sharing the experience with like minded souls.

Unique 3 has been on the razor’s edge of dance music since its’ inception. And has a worrying selection of scars to prove it.

Forever etched into warehouse legend with his pioneering of ‘Bleep House’, Unique 3 was instrumental in evolving House Music beyond its roots 
in Soul and Disco and into a futuristic soundscape that drove the progressions of dance music as we know it. 
Suggestions that the whole thing stemmed from an accidental recording of a knackered smoke alarm have been met with threats of violence from the Unique 3 camp, 
but there can be no doubt that it set the standard and the headspace for a staggering number of records that followed. 

Unique 3 has been cited by such luminaries as The Chemical Brothers, Coldcut, Goldie & LFO as inspiration. Not to mention the Teletubbies.

Unique 3’s groundbreaking early UK Hip-Hop bridged the gap from US Hip-Hop into a vibrant new sound that was to change music forever: 
'Activity' by Unique 3 was the first dance track to sample the infamous AMEN break & went on to become one of the most sampled records ever 
whilst being cited as one of the very few original ’Break-Beat’ tracks which later spawned ’Jungle’ then ’Drum & Bass’ & paved the way for Nu-Skool Breaks. 

The inclusion of Unique 3's - 'The Theme' on both The Chemical Brothers album of tracks that inspired them to make music: 'Brothers Gonna Work It Out' 
& on Warp Records’ collection of early House tracks that inspired them to set up their world famous label (later their download site BLEEP), an album aptly titled: 'Inspirations',

Edzy was recently reminded of Unique 3's iconic status in the history of dance music when 'The Theme' was voted the number 1 track played at the The Hacienda 
in the ’90s by the Deejays that played there. The fact that any of them can remember anything is testament to the hypnotic power of the Bleep.

has a new album, ‘Picture, No Sound’ forthcoming this summer. With a hectic release schedule that may or may not keep him in brandy for 10 or 15 minutes, 
a new single, 'On The Wire' is slated for release on 14th April with remixes from: B-Phreak, Anti-Slam & W.E.A.P.O.N. and DTC

I am an electronic music producer hailing from Sydney, Australia. You can expect some blend of house or techno to be coming out of my studio always more aligned to the more progressive, melodic and deeper sides of those genres.

I grew up on a diet of 80’s euro-pop and 90’s electronic beats, artists like Eurythmics, Chemical Brothers and the Prodigy are really where it all began for me. When I started to get into DJing it was the nuskool breaks movement that really grabbed me. As I immersed myself in the music at that time, I found myself drawn towards the more progressive breaks sound of artists like Beta, Hybrid, Mesmer and Nubreed to name a few. 

This attraction towards the deeper more melodic side is a theme that would continue even as the strictly broken beat sounds of many of my favourite artists, DJ sets and indeed my own productions started to wane and evolve into something more influenced by house or techno with a steady four to the floor rhythm.

Whatever style of music I'm making you can expect lush soundscapes, gritty textures, a good kick & bass drop as well as a cheeky breakbeat from time to time.

One way or another you already know about Balboa. For some time it was most likely to be Rocky Balboa but in recent years it is more likely that it is one of the fastest freshest up and coming DJs on the global breakbeat scene Richie Balboa. In a little under two years he has DJ’d all over the UK, USA, China and Europe sharing a stage with the likes of DJ Zinc,  The Freestylers, A Skillz, Jurassic 5, Krafty Kuts, Rusko, Tayo, DJ Deekline and the Stanton Warriors, resulting in a nomination in the best breakthrough DJ category at the Breakspoll international breakbeat awards 2009.

It all started in 2007 when he founded the club night Social with fellow DJ McQueen in London’s trendy Soho. Fast forward a year and the pair were running one of London’s best breaks nights and between them had booked the likes of The Utah Saints,  Fabric resident Ali B, Kid Blue, SuperStyleDeluxe, Peo De Pitte, Mr No Hands, Jay Stewart and NineLives The Cat.200-nsb-static

Around the same time Richie took over the running of NSB Radio an immediately built on the successes of former manager Tony Slackshot and established the first ever breakbeat radio station to operate a 24/7 live schedule broadcasting from every continent on the globe. By February 2008 NSB Radio won its first of two Breakspoll international breakbeat award for best radio station for the first time and solidified its place as the world’s number 1 breakbeat station.

A DJ residency for NuSkoolBreaks (the world’s biggest breakbeat website) soon followed which saw him line up with the likes of Slyde, Baobinga, Atomic Hooligan, Drummattic Twins and General Midi at venues all over the UK. Many many gigs later and he was nominated in the best breakthrough DJ category at Breakspoll.

Since he becoming manager NSB Radio has broadcast live from festivals such as Glade, winner of the best dance festival award at the 2008 UK festival awards and the Winter Music Conference Miami as well as numerous other global events. Today it is broadcasting live from Japan, South Korea, Russia, New Zealand, Australia, Brazil, Colombia, USA, Canada,  UK and mainland Europe to the entire world through the internet and 3G mobile phones.

2009 has seen the Richie Balboa & Will Streewise show rock clubs and fesitvals the world over. The year started in Beijing, China and has seen them play to crowds from the Winter Music Conference in Miami to Glade and even Nassfest, Europe’s largest extreme sports Festival. Their DJ sets cover an entire spectrum of music from old skool funk and hip hop to the latest dubstep, drum n bass and breakbeat and this was further embraced with a residency for For Boarders By Boarders who became the first orgainisation to tour every UK snowdome in the same year.

Now busy in the studio 2010 promises to be the biggest year yet, watch this space……
