'Her Touch' - Track 4 from the collaborative album 'Dissolver' by Stumbleine Feat. Violet Skies. Released April 2014 on Monotreme Records.

Following the release of their debut collaborative EP, Chasing Honeybees, in February, UK producer Stumbleine (aka Peter Cooper) and vocalist/songwriter Violet Skies deliver their first full-length album, Dissolver.

In it, the duo continues to explore the fusion of Stumbleine’s electronic beats and dreamy, shoegaze guitars with Violet Skies’ soulful pop / R’NB vocals.

From the slow-burning soul of opener Thunderdome through the catchy melodic pop of Sunset Boulevard and Heroine, the propulsive R’NB of Her Touch and Whirlpool and the swirling shoegaze-infused balladry of One Step Closer and Sleeping Through The Day, Dissolver delivers a welcome progression to the pop genre that seamlessly blends classic pop sensibilities with modern R’NB, contemporary electronica and 80’s shoegaze indie.

The music still retains the trademark lush production that Stumbleine is noted for, with strong melody lines and compelling lyrics penned by Violet Skies.

With Violet now involved in the songwriting, Peter affirms that she’s given Stumbleine a face and stamped his music with her personality. “She makes the music stand out and has opened the door to a wider audience,” he says, “I’ve pushed myself much harder over the past year to create something a bit different”,

With Dissolver, Peter has added Violet’s vitality to the dreamy essence of Stumbleine and the results are breathtaking.

Violet Skies has recently launched her own solo career, with the recent debut of her first track “How The Mighty”.

Dissolver is available on CD and digital download formats from all good retailers and also as a 180 gm vinyl LP pressing of 500 (300 white vinyl, 200 black vinyl) which includes a free poster and an album CD in a printed card wallet inside.

Solid Steel in association with Serato (2nd October) Bristol producer Decka has just released his new Begyndelsen EP via new Berlin label SPE:C, and has already been garnering attention from FACT, Boiler Room, and Mixmag, as well as featuring in the sets of Randomer, Matrixxman and Objekt. he told us;
"I recorded this mix at my home studio in Bristol. It contains mostly new tracks that I've really been feeling, intertwined with some new bits from myself and a bunch of unreleased tracks from new producers. Enjoy!"

Anonymous analog rebel here. Name Bell Riots comes from a series of events called after protest leader Gabriel Bell in science fiction drama Star Trek. Events took place in San Francisco 2024 and were one the most violent disturbances in all of American history resulting deaths of hundreds of Sanctuary District residents. Riots were the outcome of governments reaction to homelessness and unemployment which was creating Sanctuary Districts for them and essentially walling them of from the city grids. Sanctuaries quickly degraded into inhumane internment camps for the poor which later were joined by mentally ill and violent social outcasts.

The fifth record on NEW YORK TRAX is by Lot.te, the Turkish-born, Brooklyn-based DJ, producer and designer affiliated with The Bunker NY by virtue of two well-received vinyl releases. This politically charged record is Lot.te’s personal reflection on the current social and political climate in Turkey. With rhythmic synths tactilely brought to the foreground, Lot.te committed a masterpiece that only a skilled and thoughtful artist like himself can commit. The opening ‘Ultra Vires’ is a relentless synth-driven and warehouse-styled track mercilessly rolling at the speed of 140BPM. The deeper Ausnahmezustand follows; it is a reflective and rhythmical piece good for both home listening and the dance floor. 15.07.2016 opens the B side with its tense yet playful atmosphere and numerous constantly evolving layers of sound. Finally, Graft is a shockingly intense introspective piece. Made with the use of Japanese Taiko drums, it is a lesson in perfect sound design. VINYL ONLY!
