Hello! Friends of the Monument.

Our guest for this episode is Luigi Tozzi(@luigitozzi). An Italian based producer with releases on influential labels like Dynamic Reflection and Hypnus Records (Sweden). We could expect to hear more from Luigi in the future as you could read about in the Q&A. On the note of “future”, this mix showcases a futuristic landscape of techno sounds and grooves. A real treat for the mind.

1. Which DJ would you like to share a beer and a conversation with? Why?

Probably with the guys from Northern Electronics, especially with Acronym.
I am paying a lot of attention to their output and like it very much, it's interesting
to me  how they express all a similar mood in their music, but keeping a very distinctive
and individual touch. They are very careful not to unveil too much about themselves, which is something that I respect, but I'd be very curious to know a bit more about their methods and workflow.

2. How do you make your music? And whats up with the deep and sci-fi sound style? 

I make my music with an hybrid setup, I own some analog machines (Ms20 mini/Microbrute and a couple drum machines) but I tend to work and process a lot in the box with Ableton and some plugin bundles. This is the way I will continue to work in my solo project, but in the future I am planning to make a collaboration with a friend here in 
Rome which will be centered only on machines. I think that jamming and arranging live can be very stimulating for creativity and I'm very looking forward to give it a try.

3. What's happening in the future? (releases, gigs etc)

A lot is happening in the next months, with Hypnus we will release a LP with great artists (such as Cassegrain,Ness, Svreca, Mike Parker, Alan Backdrop, Orphx, Cio d'Or and Edit Select) remixing our works from the past year.This will be released in January and in the following months I already have three solo releases confirmed and some remixes. Also I am very excited about starting to work on a live set, I know this won't be easy and will take some time but it's an objective I have fixed as a goal for 2015.

4. Any words to the people out there mesmerized by your sound? 

No I'll just take the chance to say THANK YOU to everyone who is supporting what I am doing, I would have never expected my first two releases to go out of stock that fast and I am very grateful for this.

@Invisible-Inc 's latest limited 12' brings cosmic adventurer Secret Circuit into the fold. Secret Circuit is the project of musician and visual artist Eddie Ruscha whose solo and collaborative activities have issued forth an inordinate number of stellar releases on labels such as Emotional Response, Beats In Space, Internasjonal, ESP Institute or Rush Hour's 'No Label'. With "Higher Planes Drifter" Secret Circuit has excelled himself yet again. From the outset the bar is set pure and high and we're transported to far flung reaches where only Secret Circuit can take us : expanding upwards and outwards to bathe in the synthesized waves of a warm cosmic ocean. Rhythmatic Generator here premiered has 'kosmische' and experimental lo-fi touches with some serious synth workouts and tripped up beats the music truly defies categorising as there's nothing else quite like it. Imagine, if you will, swarms of hallucinating microbes at a mass pagan ritual set on the surface of an old drum machine's circuit board and you'll be close. The release has been a bit delayed but this way you'll have plenty of time to enjoy that exclusive stream before it's out late april !

Crepuscular, infrasonic hydroacoustics submerge padding rhythms, emerging gradually through oscillations and the caustic snarl of static, into a mutant echo chamber of polyrhythmic hypnosis and fractal bleeps to be finally swept away by vast, billowing swathes of spectral harmonics.

Born and educated in Rome, the young Italian producer Luigi Tozzi was strongly influenced by the roman scene and its local artists, many of whom gave a crucial contribution to the birth and growth of the deep techno sound. Luigi’s music has so far been released on the established label Dynamic Reflection as well as setting a regular cooperation with the very promising and mysterious techno label Hypnus Records from Sweden, where he found a platform that inspired him to develop his style. Melting the tribal and hypnotic elements of techno with the atmospheric and emotional side of ambient music he is making his own path in the world of electronics. Recently this has gotten him in contact with Dino Sabatini which led to the opportunity to join Outis Music that has released well known artists such as Modern Heads, Brando Lupi, Donato Dozzy among others.
