Le Pépiniériste, once the elusive mastermind behind Paris's underground electronic webradio and the clandestine host of intimate parties shrouded in mystery, now emerges as a sage columnist at StarWax magazine. His evolution from a hardcore free party fanatic to a purveyor of electro, slow beats, and mind-altering psychedelic techno hints at a darker transformation lurking beneath the surface.

Meanwhile, Horseshit, the tireless digger of sound, the rebel with a penchant for punk-rock rebellion, post-punk introspection, and the pulsating rhythm of funk and new wave, has been crafting sonic mosaics since 2014. His sets, oscillating between electrifying electro, tantalizing nu disco, and hypnotic trance, promise to drag you into the depths of sonic oblivion.

Their clandestine performances at Paris Microclimat parties and their ethereal presence on podcasts like Slow is the New Fast and PornDisco fuel rumors and whispers, igniting anticipation for their return. As they emerge from the shadows once more, their enigmatic creations beckon, promising an odyssey through the twisted corridors of electronic ecstasy.

Back in 2008, Kommi Torpela acquired his first set of turntables and started spinning hardcore, drum & bass and techno records. Under a different moniker, he performed in various underground parties in Finland.

Some years later, "DJ Kommi Torpela" started off as a not-so-serious side project. It served as an outlet for his 80's and 90's music dj sets, mainly focusing on Italo Disco and Italo House. Further down the line, his interest over genres like Italo Disco, New Beat and EBM grew stronger. As modern productions started to emerge as Indie Dance and Dark Disco, "DJ Kommi Torpela" would then become his main alias.

In his dj sets, he likes to combine new with old, keep things interesting and surprising, and have a right balance between seriousness and playfulness. 

"The Universal Beats guest mix is showcasing my vision of darker side of Italo Disco, what I consider being my main style. It contains a fair amount of my all-time and recent favourites."

Today we are going to surprise you.
Yes, our collection is replenished every week, and more and more talented musicians are coming to our community. This time the guest mix for us was recorded by Fazarchive - young, bright and already having experience of performing in the legendary @armaseventeen.
As Arthur himself said, this mix turned out to be “melancholic electric disco with indie flavor”. We were already familiar with his mixes, and this one turned out to be a great addition to our collection - the groove of the whole mix stretches in a measured and even way, interrupted by quality drops, brightly complemented by vocals.

“Dreaming” is a deep melodic house journey that blends warm analog synths with a deep rolling bassline and hypnotic percussive grooves. Ethereal female vocal phrases drift in and out like fragments of memory, airy and emotional against a backdrop of lush pads and evolving textures. Smooth and progressive, the track avoids big drops in favor of a flowing, immersive build. Both introspective and danceable, it captures a sense of emotional depth while keeping the energy moving—a perfect soundtrack for late-night reflection or sunrise moments.

He first learned his trade in Corte and Saint-Florent before spreading his joie de vivre throughout Corsica. After a short break, he returned to Lyon to delight our ears.
