Back in 2008, Kommi Torpela acquired his first set of turntables and started spinning hardcore, drum & bass and techno records. Under a different moniker, he performed in various underground parties in Finland.

Some years later, "DJ Kommi Torpela" started off as a not-so-serious side project. It served as an outlet for his 80's and 90's music dj sets, mainly focusing on Italo Disco and Italo House. Further down the line, his interest over genres like Italo Disco, New Beat and EBM grew stronger. As modern productions started to emerge as Indie Dance and Dark Disco, "DJ Kommi Torpela" would then become his main alias.

In his dj sets, he likes to combine new with old, keep things interesting and surprising, and have a right balance between seriousness and playfulness. 

"The Universal Beats guest mix is showcasing my vision of darker side of Italo Disco, what I consider being my main style. It contains a fair amount of my all-time and recent favourites."

Celestino didn’t just stumble into electronic music. No, he fell through the cracks of reality into a world where dark disco beats collide with the debris of dying stars. Born somewhere between Brazil and a black hole, he found himself curating SXDNS (Sexy Dinosaur from Outer Space), a platform so strange it could only be described as a love letter to the cosmic void.

For years, Celestino has been sending transmissions from the edge of the known universe, his tracks like coded messages meant to disrupt the dull hum of everyday existence. Labels like Emerald & Doreen and NEIN Records have caught his signals, turning them into EPs that ripple through the fabric of time itself. Each release is a map to nowhere, with soundscapes that lead you deeper into the labyrinth of your own mind.

Celestino isn’t just making music. He’s playing god in his own little universe, where dinosaurs dance under dying suns and every beat could be your last. He’s not just a curator; he’s a cosmic trickster, offering you a glimpse into a world where the future is already a forgotten past. Ultimately, you realise it’s not just music—it’s a doorway, and Celestino holds the key.

Adrián Peña Sánchez (Calystarr), is a DJ, producer and electronic researcher from Chiclana de la Frontera (Cádiz). His style could be compared like night and day, on the one hand, dynamism and depth and on the other, elegance and freshness. Their sounds are full of psychedelic atmospheres full of harmony using nuances and resources, in most cases, of a retrospective nature. Calystarr usually works under many musical influences, betting mostly on retro and underground indie sounds.
