  Indie-Rock group The Norms hail from Riverside, California. Led by Lead singer and rhythm guitarist Gabriel Benitez Jr who Co-Founded the band with Lead Guitarist Austin McCraken, The duo met in high school, eventually forming their first band with another classmate. The project failed but did manage create the musical connection the duo needed to form The Norms just after graduating. Following Shortly thereafter, the duo went through a few stints with different members, eventually recruiting life long friend of McCraken's, Curtis Hatter as their Bassist and Drummer Eric Drake, whom was a college classmate of Benitez Jr. The group takes inspiration form bands such as The Strokes, Vampire Weekend, Weezer & Bloc Party, but combine Benitez Jr's writing ability, McCraken's energy, Hatter's feel good style and Drake's soulful twist and you get sound that's all their own.
