The present EP is the first work of Zaratustra toward more housy and funky atmospheres, with two tracks that share a vintage and joyful vibe. 

« Down the Rabbit Hole » evokes a scene from « Alice in Wonderland ». In this fast house tune, you could picture Alice running after the White Rabbit in a sort of comic-book background. It has many different elements that don’t stop surprising throughout the track: piano solos, acid, laser dives and childish flute melodies; all blending in a catchy rythm thanks to the punchy drums and bassline. 

« On the Run » is a playful and merry indie dance song that evokes a reckless ride on a sunny Californian highway. Drawing inspiration from 80s music, with rock-like vocals, the track contains a variety of old-school synths, as well as hopping acid lines.

Zaratustra - Down The Rabbit Hole

At this time, we have an exotic ep by Zaratustra a DJ/Producer based in Paris, evolving in the indie dance and dark disco genres. Lately, with his latest "White Magic" EP on Ulla Records and releases to come on the Parisian label Skylax Records, he has been blending rock instruments with electronic rhythms, focusing on 80s-like vocals. As a DJ, he likes to take the audience on a dark and mysterious journey.
We've got an amazing remix by Austher whose sound is Influenced by Disco/Funk classics and Electronic music since he stands on his two feet, Austher blends bright cosmic melodies on dark and powerful basslines with his naive vision of the world. His music is inspired by the 80's aesthetic but with a dark and dystopian point of view.

For ODTD053 Final Request delivers a formidable original in a top tier package featuring the all star remix cast of Fur Coat, Olivier Giacomotto and Coeus.

Mesmerising original ‘Driven By The Stars’ sets a pulsing melodic groove from the get go, immediately locking you in. With Ant Art’s emphatic vocal taking over the intensity building over each successive bar. From here Final Request adds ringing keys, heart wrenching chords, driving bass and urgent beats as the track explodes.

Øddity label boss Fur Coat provides the first in a compelling trio of remixes. Focused dark tones and thumping beats set the scene, as Sergio uses Ant’s vocal as the focal point, cleverly adding his now spin through a sumptuous hypnotic melody and pulsating bass-line. This classy remix deserves a powerful sound system for maximum impact.

Coeus turns in a dynamic and expansive interstellar journey full of twists and turns. Disorientating staccato keys create the perfect point for the vocal to enter, leading to stunning breakdown. From here it's all about when the bass drops. Coeus doesn’t disappoint, hitting warp speed amongst the cacophony of beats. Buckle up tight and enjoy the ride.

Not to be outdone Olivier Giacomotto closes the EP in a cavernous melodic techno interpretation that drags you deep into the abyss. Tense jagged shuddering stabs keep you on the edge of your seat as Ants FX ridden vocal is given a futuristic machine like quality. Olivier’s masterful arrangement will have DJs coming back for more.

Cette pièce hybride est une collaboration avec Simon Louche, compositeur (instrumental et électroacoustique).

Poussières Mécaniques est la recherche d’une esthétique vivante, grouillante, organique à partir de rebuts industriels.
C’est une remise en mouvement de matériaux endormis trouvés dans des usines en friche, des débris de machines industrielles transformés en machines sonores. C’est une recherche sonore, au moyen d’une palette de timbres variés (bois, métal, plastique, céramique...), obtenus mécaniquement avec des sons percussifs, des frottements lents et rapides.

Tout au long de la pièce se déploient diverses interactions et circulations d’énergie entre les sons des objets, leurs lumières, la percussions, l’électronique. La composition mélange des textures bruitistes empruntant au langage électroacoustique avec des esthétiques très rythmiques et pulsées.

C’est une expérience mystérieuse et immersive dans le noir, où le public distingue de chaudes lumières dansantes, et où l’amplification des objets sonores le fait plonger en détail dans leur matérialité.

Cette pièce a été jouée à l’occasion de l’édition 2023 du festival Musica lors de la soirée Safe Place, et sera jouée le 13 juin 2024 dans une version évoluée, à l'occasion du festival SoundUp! en partenariat avec l'ensemble strasbourgeois HanatsuMiroir.
