Mexican artist, Replicanth, debuted ‘Apolo’ for us last year on our Floorplay Vol. 1 compilation. The VA included a little bit of everything for the most discerning selectors, and following its success, we are releasing some of the tracks as full EPs with both established and new artists on remix duties, in keeping with the ethos of the series. 

In original form, ‘Apolo’ is an emotional journey dripping with soul. Heavily delayed piano hits, vocals and instruments float above the ether of lazy harmonica reverbs, icy pads and ethereal adlib washes. Hypnotic and warm, it feels like a favourite audio blanket lovingly wrapped around your shoulders as you look wistfully at the city at night twinkling against the glow of the moon. 

First on remix duties is benū, a newcomer from Brooklyn, New York with his first release. Marrying the original vibe with nuanced Latin flavours, he develops a sensational stripped back organic Afro feel. Next, Belarusian supremo, Michael A adds his considerable talent. Thumping drums pair with far away pads and insistent percussion for a robust late night bruiser. Label favourite Electronic Youth takes the track in a groovy disco direction. Treading that fine line between disco and tech, the bassline is the star of this show. Finally, returning the favour of a remix, Brazil’s CANCCI drops a pacey deep house vibe with tons of personality.

Having kicked off the year with the 'Redemption EP' together with Sandeep, the Dutch Hollt is now set to bring his 'Reach Out EP' as the 1st release on his newly-founded die Stube Records.

The three track EP features 'Reach Out', a drum driven beat with a solid fundament and a characteristic spacy break, after which it'll slam you right back to earth. 

'Miss Lead' is inspired by a mysterious woman that takes charge of her motions through life. The track contains a serious and rolling beat, and lays the focus on an acid melody.

That same hypnotic and acid melody is the basis for Sandeep's re-interpretation of 'Miss Lead'. His 'Into The Deep Mix' is taking the listener on an adventure with the signature warm and cozy sounds the Rotterdam-based DJ/Producer is known for.

A New Beginning

Premiere: Carlo Whale - Alnitak [Particles]

Russian duo Doyeq are already back on Nugget Music with two wonderful tracks. First up is "Air Crystal" a tune that carries its name well, clear percussions and organic sounds give this track a precious deep and dark vibe. Peter Makto & Gregory S. turned the track into an energetic bomb remix perfect for the dance floor.

Next is ‘Blurry Mascara’ which fits the EP well with a more energetic vibe while maintaining darkness and atmosphere. Mark Slee brought his own style of remix, well crafted percussions and bouncy sounds are part of this happier version.

PREMIERE : Aston Alba - Euphrates (Original Mix) [Chrom Recordings]

Our Chrom Recordings EP nr 40 is from Sam Albasini aka Aston Alba, a producer & DJ from Switzerland. In 2018 he released his first singles and EP's on Trippy Code and Inlab. Pretty soon his style of music evolved from melancholic & hypnotic techno into a mix of mystic atmospheres and Middle Eastern sounds resulting in releases on Grrreat & Aftertech. And in this style he presents us now his 2-track EP on Chrom Recordings:“Tigris & Euphrates”. To round things off, we also added  some very powerful remixes.

For “Euphrates” we asked an artist we already wanted to add to our roster for some time: Aaron Suiss, from Washington DC, but now currently residing in Thailand. Aaron Suiss describes his style of music as Progressive Melodic House/Techno. Aaron is currently working as the A&R & Label Manager of Outta Limits Recordings, one of the leading Progressive House labels around and the imprint of Stan Kolev & Matan Caspi. Next to his output on Outta Limits he also has released on Revolt, Harabe & O'Tawa. For this remix Aaron teams up with Q.U.A.K.E aka Netanel Asraf from Israel.

The second remix of “Euphrates” is made by Riccardo LeBron aka Anakim (pronounce as ana-keem), a Los Angeles-based DJ/producer who describes his music as "Intergalactic Underground Sounds”. He perfected his sound at the esteemed Icon Collective Music Production School resulting in a dark and mysterious sonic style that is both melodically rich and delightfully sinister. Releases on top labels such as EIN2, ICONYC, mau5trap, Desert Hearts Black, Krafted Underground, Dear Deer,... and nominated by DJ Mag as  “Artist To Watch” in 2019 and by Billboard Dance as “Emerging Artist You Should Know” this year, says it all.

And last but not least the EP is completed with a remix of “Tigris” by Sarcasmo. Sarcasmo is a new project, a new idea, from the Spanish producer/DJ Alvaro Fuentes, established in London, sharing his more than 10 years of experience and in which after researching about different styles brings his darkest side: techno, deep and minimal influences fused with dark vibes is what you can find in most of his energetic productions, resuling in releases on labels such as Steyoyoke, Us & Them, KDB, Wood, Cinematique, Qilla,...
