This song is not a replacement for anything. It plays during the meeting with Gaster in a Genocide route (or a Neutral route if you've killed a certain number of people by this stage), where he is aware of the deaths you have caused and decides that your SOUL would be better off with him. He can be spared, by reminding him of your common goals. He must be killed for a Genocide route.
