'Campo Triste' está inspirado en el famoso tema ecuatoriano "La Bocina', en este caso (sample) interpretado por Soledad Morales, cantante invidente quien radicó en Sigsig, pequeño pueblo de la provincia del Azuay. No fue sorpresa encontrar que el productor ecuatoriano Pancho Piedra, habitante de Cuenca, Ecuador, se encontrara trabajando en una re interpretación de este tema. Tiene sentido, toda una generación dedicada a la radio, transmitiendo joyas resguardadas en las bóvedas de 'Radio Tomebamba'. 

Así continua la familia Piedra, en poder de antiguos discos que cuentan la historia de un Ecuador nostálgico, liderado en aquellas épocas por el timón y los arreglos de don Polibio Mayorga. Este es un homenaje contemporáneo sin duda, con el fin de rescatar ese anhelo sonoro de aquellos tiempos.

We are honoured to present a very special and very beautiful Botanas from the hand of Ecuadorian producers Nicola Cruz and Pancho Piedra. 

Campo Triste' is inspired by the famous Ecuadorian song "La Bocina", in this case with a sample from a version sung by Soledad Morales, a blind singer from Sigsig, a small town in the province of Azuay. It wasn't a surprise for Nicola to discover that Pancho Piedra, a fellow Ecuadorian producer living in Cuenca, was working on a reinterpretation of the song. Everything made sense - Piedra belonging to a generation that is dedicated to treasuring and transmitting musical gems from the vaults of the city's "Radio Tomebamba". 

In this way the story of the Piedra family continues, holding in their hands these old records that tell, with nostalgia, the history of Ecuador, led at the time by don Polibio Mayorga’s arrangements. 

While this is undoubtedly a modern tribute, it also captures and revives this nostalgic piece of musical longing from another time. 

This Botanas also features three precious remixes from fellow Ecuadorian Quixosis, Mexico's Jiony and Chile's Rodrigo Gallardo.

Over the past few months, Scottish Born music wanderer Kusht and Argentinian producer Muno have virtually travelled beyond geographical boundaries to merge their diverse backgrounds and influences into their new 2 song EP - Rumble.

Their very own interpretation of the Pachamama sound is filled with mesmerising atmospheres and dramatic changes of mood in an amusing game of forms that bounce off each other, almost like they are acting according to their own rules. 

Both Rezza and Jaipur feature earthy rhythms, hypnotising build ups, rolling melodies, spiritual vocals, relentless percussion and seductive delays, which come together as one immersive whole, painted in vivid colours that will slowly seep into your mind for days. Enjoy!

Artist Bio 

The young producer, Joseph DeFaria (J•POOL), originally from the south of Canada, has been living a nomadic lifestyle for most of his adult life. Working in the forests of Canada in the summers as a tree planter, and traveling the rest of the year, Joe started his project "J•POOL" with the goal of creating music that is inspired by the many different natural environments in which he spends his life.  His intention is to produce music that will make people move and feel the connection to their innerself and the world around them.  He writes his music as he travels, finding inspiration in the feelings that arise from the unique energy present in each new location he experiences . The sound of J•POOL represents a journey through the infinite universe within as well as the unfathomably complex physical world in which our lives are manifest. 

The song "Selva" was written while I was exploring the jungles and diverse biospheres of Mexico and Central America.  My hope with this song was to capture a part of the magic the exists in those incredibly mystical lands, and translate it into something that will make people feel in touch with their more primal spiritual nature.

The idea of this Edit is to give a little listen of the Andean Carnival to the world. The proposal of Camila y Silvio is rooted in folklore in a fresh and young interpretation of traditional genres of the Andean regions. Listening to them is an experience where human landscapes and experiences are braided on the thrill of singing, leaving to the skin the deep intimacy of life and the joy of the Andean Carnival. In 2019 they released their first long-running album "On the Edge of the Night" album with which this year they were awarded as best root music artist at Premios Pulsar, the most important award in the Chilean music industry.
