I’ve loved immersive audio things since falling asleep to prog rock albums on cassette players at night as a kid. These are things I’ve made over the years as Batty Roy, Keta Bush & Sonic Headtrip Inc while DJing and messing around with Ableton.

Shane McNamara a.k.a. Dunning Krueger is an ambitious DJ and producer based in Berlin, Germany. With his laidback manner and desire to create, he’s attracted a fanbase of house and garage fans worldwide. 

After honing his skills over a number of years, Shane finally felt ready to launch a new alias to showcase his new improved sound, and Dunning Krueger was born. His debut release ‘Jump to It’ achieved strong positions in 3 Beatport charts, amongst fierce competition, and was featured in Apple Music's ‘The Underground’ playlist with support from Renato Cohen, 9th House, Shadow Child and DJ Barely Legal.

Dunning Krueger’s versatile sound falls somewhere between a mix of house, garage and 2-step. If there were any words to describe his sound, he admits ‘sunny vibes’ would be appropriate. 

As well as being a talented DJ and producer, Shane is also an accomplished video director, producing videos for the likes of Mr Beatnick (Mythstery), Reuben Keeney a.k.a. Rebuke (Toolroom Records), FaltyDL (Ninja Tune) and Last Magpie (Me Me Me).

His DJ skills have led him to hold a vinyl only bi-monthly residency at Basement Sate in Soho, and he’s enjoyed a bi-monthly vinyl only show for 2 years on Music Box Radio, and has graced the turntables at Farr Festival on several occasions.

On the music production front his most successful release to date is the ‘Jump to It E.P.’ on Waze and Odyssey’s ‘Street Tracks’ Label. And entering a remix competition for Man Power, resulted in the release being signed to Me Me Me as part of a compilation to raise money for NHS Charities.

Currently Shane is working hard on a label project for a vinyl/digital concept series with a host of great names already onboard. And Dunning Krueger’s future looks bright, with forthcoming E.P's on Stepback Records, Renato Cohens label Massa (Brazil), a follow up E.P. for Street Tracks and a single on Dawn State.
