We’re thrilled to be starting our year with a new podcast from Hardware, who has been a devotee of electronic music for over twenty years. His passion is evident in his DJ sets, where he plays anything from classic New York and Chicago house to contemporary, genre-less mutations of (post)hardcore continuum beats.

As a member of Organizovany Plevel and the newly formed Bass Weight crew, he always aims to capture the unique vibe of each space when performing at various events. Hardware builds his sets in a way that creates momentum while remaining open-minded — in Hardware, you’ll find a master at reading the room and influencing the crowd. 

Hardware’s mix for our podcast explores the many shades of UK-flavored techno and bass music. It’s loosely based on the idea of a warm-up set, where deeper and moodier tracks gradually transform into more straightforward tunes with heavier subs and more powerful beats, creating a sense of urgency. This progression allows the following DJ the opportunity to unleash their inner beast.

Much of @pekkell inspiration comes from attending opening hours, when minds are still sharp and not overly craving climaxes or peaks. Rather, something is created that has unison and seems merging from dusk. A sort of cyclic path you can walk into, where to get lost. This is what the Dutch talent aim to convey in the form of ever-evolving rhythms, beeps, and percussion culled from a wide range of dub-tech oriented styles. Straight from Groningen, he’s been already featured by @aajaradio, @echo-recordings and @selinselinselinselin.
