making these mixes is truly a cathartic release for me. I had planned to release this mix in the winter (as I’ve done with the last two) but I suppose I’ve had a lot more to process this time around. this past year and a half has been a monumentally difficult ride for me, and most of us for sure. having pretty much everything I’ve worked towards musically come to a complete halt, I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on this life. there’s been some good moments, but as with the duality of life there’s been some serious lows. i’ve struggled to feel inspired to work on anything music related over this pandemic. and witnessing the state of our planet every day pushed me to the edge many times and I got lost in the grips of addiction. it’s been a rollercoaster to say the least. but over the last 6 months I’ve since overcome many of my demons and put my energy in to healing myself in a lot of ways. i’ve decided to release this mix the day before my 29th birthday, and to close out a heavy chapter of darkness in my life. I know we’ve all been struggling through this pandemic bullshit but there’s always a silver lining in any difficult time if you look for it. music is medicine and being able to share songs that hit me in the heart gives me a sense of purpose. stay up my friends. much love.

Hi it's me Mr. Promises about continuing to make mixtapes.  I'm here to make good.  In pursuit of making DJing more than DJing but also .. less .. than DJing ... recorded this live in Traktor, Jan 2023.   This one is dedicated to Señor Swett ... man of many tropical off-kilter rhythms .. lover of sparse beautiful things ... of soundscapes ... and complex, less easily appreciated art.  Your passion for music is inspirational.  Thanks for teaching me about that flow state

Returning to an older style of mixing for me here ... looking to showcase each song, preserving good intros and endings where possible, allowing energy to breathe and flow and keeping mixing to a minimum ... not trying to do things seamlessly or stitch things together too much. Nür Tür is a Producer/Dj sibling duo formed in 2016 by music producer Birdriot aka Derek Machin, and DJ Lion-S aka Sara Spicer. They joined forces to collaborate artistically with a focus to spread love through musical soundscapes and good vibes on dance floors and chillout spaces in the underground music community. Nür Tür is an experience of vibrational tuning through deep bass notes, uplifting ethereal tones, rhythmic beats and layered with sounds from nature. Half of the fun is in the field recordings . All beats are originally produced. The project name is a play on words and was chosen to inspire ideas around the concept of opening a door to other realms of infinite possibilities. Their first Album entitled “Duality” was in the slow bass category. Their latest release is an EP titled "Chill Forest"
