The MOPT Experiment Toolkit is a sample pack created by New York/London electronic duo MOPT. Consisting of loops, one-shots, and phrases, this sample pack enables quick and rewarding experimentation through the combination of diverse stylistic and textural styles and sources.
 
Working with analog synths, digital processing, and acoustic recordings, MOPT expands their vocabulary by exploring krautrock and latin grooves, modular IDM beats, avant-garde prepared pianos, impressionistic tape melodies, bizarre synths, and jazzy chord progressions. MOPT’s London studio gear plays a key part, with experimental synths by Soma Laboratory, Mutable Instruments, Instruo, or Makenoise, as well as tape machines by Revox giving a unique character to the sounds. 

This sample pack is a treasure trove of samples for enthusiasts of new and experimental sounds that push into new aesthetic and expressive domains in music. With this sample pack, MOPT invites you to join them in their studio - wherever you might be.

Rigo’s Mando

Rigo’s Mando is a sample pack created by Nicaraguan-born, Puerto Rico-based producer, multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Rigoazulado. It consists of loops and one-shots that push the boundaries of the mandolin as an instrument. Ranging from classic folk progressions, emotional triggering tremolos and quirky pizzicatos to unexpected stuff like percussion one-shots, bass loops and heavily processed sounds. 

The recording of the pack was done with the Warm Audio 25, a tube condenser microphone, through an RME Babyface Pro FS to keep it clean and transparent. Further processing took place in Ableton Live using stock plugins, Arturia FX Collection and Eurorack audio processors.   

Overall, this pack is filled with organic and experimental sounds that have the potential to bring an extra layer to your productions at any stage of the process, wether you need inspiration from one of the song-starter chord progressions, ear candy from the processed tremolos or straight-forward and clean plucky one-shots.

This pack was created in collaboration with Brandon Cores, a producer and musician best known for his incredible work with artists like Bebo Dumont, Kalis Uchis, Rauw Alejandro, Bad Bunny among others.

Created from his home studio in Yauco, Puerto Rico, Brandon taps into his personal arsenal of instruments, offering a wide range of recorded material to inspire your next productions. This pack of loops and one-shots are extremely versatile - these sounds can be sampled for a number of genres and sounds, from Lo-fi, Soul and R&B to bedroom pop, Dance & Funk.

Instruments used in this pack include Piano, Rhodes, Wurli, Celesta, Chimeatron, Dulcitone, Kalimba, Nylon Guitar, Fender Stratocaster, Fender Jazz Bass, synth keys with Korg Prologue. Drums and percussion are also included in the pack, which were created from his own drum breaks, homemade percussion & found sounds.

Introducing an assemblage of audio captured by Brandon Cores, meticulously curated within the confines of his personal recording haven nestled in Yauco, Puerto Rico. This compilation showcases a medley of loops, song-starters, and one-shots, all meticulously designed to harmonize seamlessly across diverse musical genres, woven together by congruous textures and evocative atmospheres. 

Drawing from an eclectic array of musical tools, this sonic journey is crafted using an assortment of instruments like an array of keyboards, guitars, bass, drums and even vocals.

Diving into the auditory spectrum, these sounds possess the inherent flexibility to interlace seamlessly within an array of musical genres, evoking emotions that transcend boundaries. Embark on soulful journeys through neo-soul, r&b, lofi, soul, folk, and funk landscapes, or set the stage for dance, bedroom-pop and trap. Boxtrod is a project spearheaded by Aaron Kennedy. He is a producer, artist, and multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles CA. Secret Garden showcases his unique style in combining natural and unnatural soundscapes together, from pristine and sharp to dusty and broken. 

The sonic identity of this pack stems from a process of chopping, quantizing, tuning, and assembling different patterns out of long improvisations. From there, some of these pieces were processed through a range of digital and analog processors like, Chase Bliss Blooper, Thermae, & MOOD - Marantz PMD 222, Montreal Assembly CT5, 1964 Fender Tremolux, and various analog tape echoes. The instruments recorded for this pack were popular vintage analog synths, a 1930’s OM Martin guitar, a custom made rubber bridge catalog guitar, prepared upright piano, and various old consumer synthesizers. All the acoustic instruments were recorded with a vintage Sony C37A, and a pair of 1950’s Beyerdynamic M160 ribbon microphones, for a clean but full bodied and textured capture. In this pack you’ll find everything ranging from simple folk guitar loops, wobbling arpeggiators, randomly falling piano notes, rubber bridge guitar starters, and polyphonic tuned acoustic instruments. 

The carefully crafted, yet odd shaped sounds will inspire art in a range of genres from indie & ambient, to hip hop & electronic.

Boxtrod: Secret Garden

This pack is brimming with over 250 soulful electric guitar grooves, tasty riffs, and intricately crafted songstarters and progressions to spark your inspiration. Featuring a variety of tones and vibes, these ideas will be right at home in projects across R&B, pop, rock, hip-hop, electronic, and wherever your creativity might lead.

These unique sounds capture the electric guitar at its highest potential, in the hands of a versatile and deeply creative player whose technique and feel are both exceptional: Colombian-born and NYC/LA-based guitarist Sus Vasquez. Sus has made a name for herself as a guitarist thriving across a variety of genres, having played alongside artists including Karol G, Luis Fonsi, Jacob Collier, Blue October, Billy Porter, Blu DeTiger, Benson Boone, Hope Tala, Anna Sofia, and Fletcher.

Recorded with Sus’s own singular collection of electric guitars and gear, this selection of carefully-processed sounds was born from open improvisation, and carries within it the sense of organic livelihood you get when you’re in the room creating with a master musician. The pack is rounded out with some additional production by nu.wav’s own Bryn Bliska.

‘almost hidden’ is a vibrantly unique collection of samples created by New York City based performer and sound designer Sky Hill. Through the creative use of cross-synthesis - a sound design technique which allows for two pieces of audio to be blended together into one - the sounds in this pack have been crafted to occupy a sonic territory of their own. Here, lush abstract flourishes live alongside choppable percussion, and bouncy off-kilter loops lay the perfect bed for punchy harmonic kicks. This is a pack designed to shine a light on the possibilities that exist between sounds, and to highlight the beauty in the hybrid, the in-between, and the act of discovery. 

J.J. Burred’s Factorsynth was an integral part o f the creation of this pack, along with Hill’s own large collection of software synths and original recordings. With a heavy focus on process, the samples here were created without a specific genre in mind. They will equally find homes in pop, abstract music, noise, dance music, or film, lending their varied and uncategorized qualities to wherever may fit them best. As a part of your productions, these sounds will lend vibrance and playfulness just as they will weight and depth.
