Efajemue - Future Pocket 

Future Pocket is a collection of over 200 drum and percussion loops and oneshots recorded by Los Angeles-based drummer and producer Efajemue. Known for his stylistic versatility and expressive creativity, Efajemue's sound draws from jazz, hip hop and electronic music to bring you a combination of singular grooves that push the envelope in multiple directions at once. 

These beats, both soulful and innovative, draw inspiration from visionaries such as Knxwledge, Flying Lotus, Kaytranada and Questlove. As a producer, Efajemue's own 2022 album Aesthetics was nominated for a JUNO Award, and he’s toured with some of the most forward-thinking, deeply musical artists of today including Moonchild, Kiefer, and Vidya Vox. 

This pack features Istanbul Agop cymbals, Yamaha Drums, custom instruments by Stack Ring Percussion, and a variety of percussion instruments from Efajemue's personal collection. Drums were recorded alongside percussion to build a variety of unique and layered groove possibilities, engineered by Efajemue himself in Los Angeles, CA.

The collection is rounded out with some additional production and instrumental recordings by nu.wav’s own Bryn Bliska & Simen Sez, matching Efajemue’s rhythmic experimentation with distinctive harmonic progressions and eclectic sonic textures from a variety of analog and digital instruments and processors.

Hailing from the American South-East, Deloyd Elze is an artist, songwriter, and producer based out of East Los Angeles. With “Redfisher," Elze unveils his distinctive approach to blending organic and synthetic elements, seamlessly melding pristine tones with gritty textures.

At the heart of this collection lies Elze's meticulous process, where he stretches, smears, blurs, tunes, and arranges diverse patterns derived from improvisations and micro-compositions. These sonic explorations are further refined through an array of processes, including revered tools like the OP-1, Hologram’s Microcosm
and Chroma Console, and Chase Bliss’s Genloss MKII. Pairing alongside gems like the Marantz PMD 221 and a first addition amp built by Nick Greer named “Michelle”.

Drawing from an eclectic array of instruments, Elze captures the essence of a bygone era with a cherished 210ce Taylor, Fender Mustang Bass, a pawn shop Lap Steel, a Parts-Caster modded Telecaster, among others. Acoustic recordings are imbued with warmth and character, meticulously captured using a Telefunken 251 clone hand built by Elze himself.

The resulting soundscape is a tapestry of sonic oddities and carefully curated textures, ranging from twangy guitar loops to lofi drums, from hauntingly dissonant synths to the rich timbres of polyphonic acoustic instruments. This diverse palette of sounds invites exploration across a spectrum of musical genres, from the introspective realms of indie to the rhythmic pulse of hip hop
and electronic music.

Abstract Trap Melodics is a collection of 90+ atmospheric and evocative melodics loops for modern trap music. Including emotive melodies and ambient expressions, Abstract Melodics was created using cutting edge digital sampling hardware, creating irregular loops and pulsating rhythms. All loops were processed using modular synthesizers and experimental hardware loopers.

Peter Bark’s debut sample pack with nu.wav features sounds in the same sonic universe as his latest release: “Blue Hour”. All of the loops and one shots were created from scratch using some of his favorite tools, ranging from monome Norns to Eurorack and Ableton Live M4L tools. 

Inside you will find heavy modulated but smooth pads, emotive and warm electric pianos and prepared piano loops, as well as an array of synthesized kicks, house-hold foley percussion and lo-fi rims and snares. All and all it is a dense and versatile sample pack inspired by the lo-fi beat scene, downtempo electronic beats & IDM electronica.

Kaleidoscope is a meticulously crafted sample pack by UK producer Dokkodo Sounds, drawing inspiration from the lush, textured soundscapes of artists like Gold Panda, Four Tet, Bonobo, and other pioneers of downtempo and organic electronica.
 
At the heart of the pack you will find warm, analogue tones of hardware synths like the Korg Minilogue XD and the quirky digital textures of the Critter & Guitari Pocket Piano. These sounds are complemented by the organic resonance of acoustic guitars and kalimbas, offering a perfect blend of electronic and natural elements that can add depth and warmth to any track.

Peter Bark’s third sample pack with nu.wav flips the script, diving into the vibrant and chaotic world of glitch hop. This time, it’s all about hard-hitting beats, fractured rhythms, and futuristic bass-lines. Eschewing ambient soundscapes, this pack is an explosion of energy, expertly crafted through a hybrid approach blending hardware and software.

Inside, you’ll find warped and stuttered drum loops processed through the SP-404sx’s vinyl sim and custom chains inspired by glitch hop’s love for crunchy, tactile sound. Expect booming bass-lines, chopped and mangled melodic loops, and percussive hits dripping with character.

Comakid is an Italian-born sound designer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who has spent much of his adult life in London, where he refined his craft and musical sensibilities. His career includes solo music releases, playing in bands, and composing for films, exhibitions, and other visual projects. As an official Ableton Sound Partner, he creates sounds, packs, and presets for the platform, while also collaborating with leading plugin and software companies. His sample packs are widely available through major labels and distributors.
 
Dokkodo Sounds is a producer, sound designer, and multi-instrumentalist known for his immersive and emotive approach to music. With a career rooted in crafting intricate soundscapes and genre-blending productions, Dokkodo has built a reputation for his work in ambient, electronic, and experimental music. He is an award-nominated composer within sync, as well as a prolific sample maker.
  
For this pack, we decided to take a collaborative approach by creating an initial palette of sounds - one-shots, loops, music ideas and song starters - that we exchanged to inspire each other. Each of us then used both our own sounds and the other’s material to compose new music. We believe the final pack is a great representation of this creative process.
 
On the analog side, Comakid relied heavily on the UDO Super 6 for synths and pads, the MS20 for bass, and a mix of digital synthesis and Eurorack modular synthesis for drums and abstract textures. Dokkodo explored the rich tones of the Moog Grandmother for the deep bass lines and energetic melodic lines. The Minilogue XD covered some of the polyphonic material, combined with other digital synths. Dokkodo also included some of his vocals that have been warped, pitched and processed to fit the electronica soundscapes of the pack. Comakid then re-processed and ran everything back through his modular system - acting as a super open-source effects engine - along with the Microcosm and the Chroma Console by Hologram Electronics.

Rigo’s Cuatro reimagines the sound of the Venezuelan Cuatro with a fusion of alternative, experimental, and folk influences. This pack offers loops and one-shots that blend the instrument’s warmth with atmospheric textures, ethereal pads, and meticulous production in Ableton. Recorded with an Oktava small condenser and processed with effects like Valhalla Vintage Reverb, Lossy, and RC-20, this pack expands the sonic universe of the traditional Cuatro with a modern and cinematic touch.
