Snowy peaks emerge from thick cloud cover, just like pointy kickdrums pierce dense plots of smooth chords and dubby synths. LAZIC019 explores high-altitude beats with London-based upcoming artist FLORENTIA and her debut EP, which comes enriched by two remixes by equally talented Andrew Azara (Cecille) and Brad Brunner (Take Notes).

A rising talent on the electronic music circuit with standout performances at Paradise and elrow, FLORENTIA has been on a roll with quality cuts on Circus Recordings and elrow music, among others, and she's now touching moon ground with two elegant, driving minimal tech productions. Title track 'I Found You' marches steadily cool with hypnotic energy and trippy rolling drums, while 'Need No Man' rolls with slinky grooves, bubbling bassline, and catchy vocals that set the tone for echoing stabs to shine flawlessly. Rounding out the package, Andrew Azara offers one of his exquisite trademark full-bodied grooves for a magnificent, late-night ballad, while Brad Brunners keeps things nice and tight with a percussive, stripped-back version.

Keeping its global focus front and centre, Jamie Jones’ Hottrax continues to serve up the good by introducing a fresh collaboration between Texas-based duo Mellizos and Spanish talent Alex Atenciano. Together, the trio unite to deliver ‘Get Lit’, a slick, groove-driven three-tracker that captures the label’s instinct for championing distinctive sounds made for the dancefloor.

Based in Texas, twin brothers Mellizos have a sound rooted in tight percussion and rolling basslines, earning early nods of support from the likes of Marco Carola, Franky Rizardo, and The Martinez Brothers. They join forces here with Madrid’s Alex Atenciano, one of Spain’s promising new voices, whose vibrant productions have found a home on labels such as Be One Records and Happy Techno Music, with support from Marco Carola, Chelina Manuhutu, and SOSA.

“This is one of the most dreamt-of releases of my career. Our inspiration has always been house music that makes you want to
move the moment you hear it. When I got together with my friends, Mellizos, and we decided to collaborate on these tracks, the three of us had a clear vision: music that you could feel deep in your body and soul. We worked very quickly and knew from the outset that what we had created deserved to be among the greatest, and today we can confirm that we have achieved that.” - Alex Atenciano.

“We really wanted to make something unique and standout, something that would get attention and be remembered. Every track in the EP has its own story, like when ‘Sabor De Noche’ got played by PAWSA, it was the first breakthrough we had and a sign that we found a sound that was truly ours.” - Mellizos.

Opening with ‘Get Lit’, the title cut locks into a rolling rhythm from the start, rich chords with crisp percussion and infectious vocal snippets. ‘Chatter’ keeps the energy levels simmering, driving momentum through tight drum programming and an elastic groove, before ‘Sabor De Noche’ closes the package with funky riffs, warm sonics, and playful energy perfect for notable moments. Showcasing two acts united by a shared feel for rhythm, the EP captures the collaborative spirit at the heart of Hottrax, a label consistently shining a light on emerging artists making a mark within the international club landscape.

Title track ‘Filler’ kicks off the EP with wAFFs low driving bassline that bounces throughout this hypnotic groove. As the drums continue to progress, wAFF infuses glitchy tones that weave in and out the accompanied vibey vocal that brings this release to life!

Cartographer delves into deeper territory, introducing a more tribal soundscape. The thick, resonant drums create a solid foundation, while the track’s intense breakdowns offer spacious moments that invite listeners to lose themselves in the rhythm.
