Electronic Convergence Livestream Feb'25

Warmly invited Dj/Producer Emperraum to record a 1h mix for us.

Emperraum is an electronic music artist based in Tbilisi, Georgia, whose work is deeply rooted in hypnotic, melancholic, and chaotic elements. His sound explores the emotional spectrum, blending raw romanticism with introspective storytelling.

Since his debut in April 2020 with the EP 'BLVCK I' on Italy’s Disskghast Recordings, Emperraum has been consistently evolving his craft. Later that year, he contributed the track 'Desires and X Journey' to the VA release on The Techno’s Children, marking his versatility as an artist.

In 2021, Emperraum continued to solidify his presence in the techno scene with the release of his EP 'Obsession' on Dreizehn Schallplatten. That same year, he unveiled his first full-length LP, 'Decent Understanding Methods', on Diffuse Reality—a turning point in his career as he became part of the label’s family. To close out 2021, he dropped 'Community of Pride Ravers', an EP on OBSCUUR’s sub-label OTOMO Records, further showcasing his ability to deliver dynamic and thought-provoking sounds.

2022 saw the release of his second album, 'Love Hate Tragedy', on Diffuse Reality, where he pushed his artistic boundaries even further. In 2023, he made waves with multiple projects: his single 'Necromancer' for Eclipse ADE Sampler 2023 on Eclipse Recordings, and his EP 'Raum Des Keiser', released on the same label in November.

Currently, Emperraum is hard at work on his upcoming albums, 'Silent Veil of Kartvel' and 'Decade of Silence', promising to bring his unique vision and emotional depth to life once again.

In March of 2025, the Trump administration canceled and sought the return of grant funds allocated to the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA), followed swiftly by an even more aggressive accusation in June, when the administration alleged that CHIRLA’s nearly 40 years of service to the Los Angeles community was carried out illegally.

We know that CHIRLA’s work is critical in their “[promotion of] freedom of movement, full human rights…and vigorous civic action that strengthens this democracy.” Today it ought to be clear to all reading this that this agency of movement – which CHIRLA has fought so tirelessly to protect for its constituents – is vitally important, life or death, and wholly nonnegotiable.

In this spirit, the cover image for this compilation is comprised of images from the 2016 photo project Fatal Migrations by Josh Begley and Daniel Alarcón. The cover of Quémalo Todo depicts the exact site where one individual, Coralia Yaneth Ardiano Castro, was victimized by a hostile landscape of racist and xenophobic rhetoric turned administrative annihilation. This compilation seeks to honor and defend the personhood of Coralia and others like her.

As members of the Los Angeles community and beyond, the producers that make up this compilation were all similarly alarmed and catalyzed by these acts of administrative, physical, and psychic violence towards our neighbors, our friends, and the network of repressed individuals and communities that make this city what it is.

In defense of freedom of movement – of people and their voices, each of which is immeasurably precious – 100% of the proceeds of this compilation will be donated to CHIRLA in support of their work.
