A dramatic piece centered around a piano. Orchestral elements and subtle synths add emotions and a touch of nostalgia to the otherwise rather somber vibe. The track feels like an unresolved dispute between loved ones, with a sad sense of disappointment hanging in the air, adding a touch of sorrow to the moody feeling. I have also created an album where I have gathered the 5 pieces that I have composed following the pattern of the Tonnetz. Each of the first four pieces (all of them for piano) follow the scheme of a different Tonnetz, what differentiates each one of them is the certain number of notes that their chords have. The pieces are presented ordered according to this number of notes that their chords have: 2, 3, 4, 6 notes respectively. In the fifth piece (which is orchestral) the four Tonnetz intervene successively in their different parts.

PROGRAM NOTE
The ideas in Snow Day were suggested by students in the Pelham Memorial High School Choir in Pelham, NY. The piece outlines a typical, hectic week in the life of teenagers. My lyricist David Cote and I spent time sifting through various comments from the choral members, and we eventually settled on a few key ideas that seemed to work well together and that helped to create a sort of encapsulated, dramatic narrative. Snow Day was commissioned by the Pelham Memorial High School Choir, Maria Abeshouse, Director.

William is an eclectic, eccentric, and electronic musician from the NW Indiana/ Chicago-land area. William draws influence from a variety sources that include Downtempo, IDM, Ambient, Dream Pop, Lo-Fi, Trip Hop, Soundtrack, New Age, Video Games, Electronic Rock, Art Rock and Progressive Rock.

William came up from working class roots and still exists there, and yet, William’s music both transcends and embraces this history for better or worse. 

At times like an aging philosopher, at other’s belligerent and dumb. Either way, one thing William is not… is boring.
