Hardcore is an important genre for the dance music scene, it has helped shape the scene into what it is today. Hardcore has inspired producers worldwide and hints of it can be heard throughout many other genres. It is carefully engineered to keep the atmosphere loving, warm and intimate whilst keeping the energy levels high with its crushing breaks and 4x4 sections that are sure to make you loose control of your limbs. It’s the perfect balance of lust and aggression.

Not only did it have an impact on the music scene, It also had an impact on society. It brought people together, broke down boundaries and tensions between groups. It also created a surge in creative energy. The creative energy was coming from hardcore raves. From the music, the visuals, the flyers, the graphic branding behind the rave groups, they didn’t have to conform to any design rules. They were free to do what they wanted, this energy was being injected into everyday life.

It is vital that we keep this beautiful genre alive and strong so that It can keep on giving. The ‘Hardcore will never die’ compilation from Corrupt Data is a free download and features 12 tracks from 12 producers. The compilation focuses on both new and old wave hardcore, some links more subtle than others. Its great to see how the genre has evolved, adapted and been interpreted by others. Each track is totally different and represents hardcore in its own way.

The release is a celebration of the genre and hopes to fuel, ignite or re-ignite passion for hardcore.

Many thanks for all the producers involved, to everyone that has helped out, those that have helped spread the word and anyone that has checked out the release.

RHAICOS was born amid the hills wherefrom
Gnidos the light of Caria is discern’d
And small are the white-crested that play near,
And smaller onward are the purple waves.
Thence festal choirs were visible, all crown’d
With rose and myrtle if they were inborn;
If from Pandion sprang they, on the coast
Where stern Athenè rais’d her citadel,
Then olive was entwin’d with violets

But one was their devotion; ’t was to her

The sword from Ares, thunderbolt from Zeus,

Rhaicos was looking from his father’s door
At the long trains that hasten’d to the town
From all the valleys, like bright rivulets
Gurgling with gladness, wave outrunning wave,
And thought it hard he might not also go
And offer up one prayer, and press one hand,
He knew not whose. The father call’d him in
And said, “Son Rhaicos! those are idle games;
Long enough I have liv’d to find them so.”
And ere he ended, sigh’d; as old men do
Always, to think how idle such games are.
“I have not yet,” thought Rhaicos in his heart,
And wanted proof.
“Suppose thou go and help
Echion at the hill, to bark yon oak
And lop its branches off, before we delve
About the trunk and ply the root with axe:
This we may do in winter.” 

A hamadryad is a Greek mythological being that lives in trees. They are a particular type of dryad, which in turn are a particular type of nymph. Hamadryads are born bonded to a particular tree. Some believe that hamadryads are the actual tree, while normal dryads are simply the entities, or spirits, of the trees. If the tree died, the hamadryad associated with it died as well. For that reason, dryads and the gods punished any mortals who harmed trees. The Deipnosophistae of Athenaeus lists eight Hamadryads, the daughters of Oxylus and Hamadryas: ⁕Karya ⁕Balanos ⁕Kraneia ⁕Morea ⁕Aigeiros ⁕Ptelea ⁕Ampelos ⁕Syke Their mother, Hamadryas, is immortalized in the name of two genera: that of the Cracker butterfly, and that of the northernmost monkey in Asia Minor, the Hamadryas baboon. The Cracker Butterfly is more arboreal than most butterflies, as it commonly camouflages itself on trees. It feeds not on nectar but on sap, rotting fruit and dung. The Hamadryas baboon however is one of the least arboreal monkeys but it was the most common monkey in Hellenic lands.
