Informa Experiments is a new series from Informa Records, the aim is to use new methods and ideas to spark creativity and push forward the ever evolving sound of electronic music. 

IREXP001 is a special collaborative project by Deepbass, Ness, Jeroen Search and NX1. 

The idea was to work together on a 4 way collaboration, each artist put a selection of sounds into a folder then from that folder of sounds each artist would create an individual piece of music. 

The release will go out as a limited 12” only.

New Sleep Induction and Lucid Dreaming Binaural Beats with 741hz!

This session is specially designed unwinding and releasing for sleep. It begins at Beta (active thinking) and slowly winds all the way down to Low Theta over the course of the first 20 minutes. Throughout the video there are waves, starting with a nature stream, then when you hear the gong the 741hz begins, after a minute or so going back to the stream.

741hz is an ancient Solfeggio sound that associates with the intuition and the Throat Chakra, so right-brained creative for dreaming. When you hear the gong, allow your thoughts to fade, and sink into your creative side. Meanwhile the Binaural Beats will be working to slow down your brainwaves. The Throat Chakra is the most important for dreaming and soul journeying, by stimulating it the chances of had vivid or lucid dreams is significantly increased.

Instructions:

1. Lay down in a comfortable position with your headphones on and play the session

2. Really feel into the sounds, allow them to do their work

3. Breath all the way down into your lower belly, and relax - letting go of the day's stress. Keep breathing into your belly, if you loose concentration, just bring your attention back to the breath

For Lucid Dreaming - Set your intention to lucid dream, then follow the above instructions, you may use this session for the WILD or MILD techniques.

UK house legend Terry Francis drops his first vinyl release in almost a decade on our very own Default Position record label.

Well known for his long running residency at Fabric London, Francis was seminal in the rise of tech-house and also the driving force behind Wiggle – a party and label established over two decades ago.

Meanwhile, Default Position is a fresh imprint specializing in deep electronic music, with a roster spanning Sebastian Mullaert, Atmo Paritosh, Chook & Tim Oe, Chapman, Daniel(i) and founder Joseph S Joyce to name a few.

Up first, ‘Intistars’ features an imaginative array of samples combined with elements of funk for a subterranean cut driven by a compelling groove. Next, ‘Gasworks’ demonstrates dark and edgy Detroit bass combined with raw and tough production in a surefire dancefloor workout.

On the flip, Darren Roach provides an energetic rendition of ‘Gasworks’ with a purring bassline, mesmerizing atmospherics and ghostly echoes before label founder Joseph S Joyce takes us on a deep minimal journey in true keeping with the meditative spirit of Default Position.

Terry Francis - Gasworks will be released on November 12th as a limited edition vinyl only. Two tracks from the EP will also be made available in the brand new STEMS format developed by Native Instruments. Sebastian Mullaert and Kontra-Musik have been involved in a love affair for quite some time – an affair that even resulted in an offspring called The Dance that came out on Kontra-Musik last year. Sebastian Mullaert is of course first of all known as half of Minilogue, a duo so influential in the hypnotic field of techno that Korg recently named a synthesizer after them. Lately, Sebastian has focused on his solo path under the Wa Wu We moniker, releasing stripped back and personal music on his own Wa Wu We label, the cryptic S.E.L.F label and now on Kontra-Musik.

On the title track Travellers, Sebastian Mullaert uses a straight up techno formula that may surprise listeners who haven’t followed his move into Wa Wu We territory. You almost get the impression Sebastian buried a recording destined for a rigid techno label in a deep forest back in the 90’s and has now decided to uncover it again, finding that the track has matured under the black soil. The sharp edges are now covered in smooth moss and the soundscape is immensely deep and moist. But it’s still a vibrant and very much effective track. Above all, it has loads of free space to let the listeners make up their own journeys as travellers into the world of sound created by Mullaert.

We float, on the flip side, is a beautiful and meditative ambient piece. It’s also the fastest way for the urban dweller to find him or herself floating in a serene lake surrounded by strong, green trees instead of floating in a sea of stress and anxiety. A set of headphones and this new release from Kontra-Musik and you’re there.

In greek mythology, Nereids are the goddess of the sea, and Orithyia is the goddess of the Raging sea. We decided to invite four artist to give their own interpretation of her.
