'Voltage Controlled Feelings' is the sonic testimony of more than two decades of serious electro, funk and boogie studies from Swedish synth commander Opolopo!

Blending epic Blade Runner soundscapes and Krautrock sequencer lines into cruising west coast beats and beyond, he proves that science fiction and funk are not only compatible, but have always belonged together. 'Voltage Controlled Feelings' is a newly discovered planet orbiting a distant star, that also pays homage to the synthesizers, drum machines and the artists who influenced Opolopo's music. Echoes of Prince, Herbie Hancock, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream and Isao Tomita can be heard throughout the album.

Fellow electronauts include L.A. vocalist Erik Rico, known for his work with Tupac Shakur and David LaChapelle, UK acid jazz hit singer Farah, Toronto-based jazz vocalist Sacha Williamson and oral transmorpher of sounds and words Amalia 'Miz Fuze' Townsend, whose debut album via TDR is also produced by Opolopo.

Supported by respected funkateers such as Dam-Funk, King Britt, Simbad and Laurent Garnier, you best put on your finest space suit and dappest boogie shoes to catch the Opolopo starcruiser!

Bogota's Meridian Brothers return to Names You Can Trust with a brand-new double-sided single. Having made their mark on the local scene in Colombia for over a decade, the last few years have brought Eblis Álvarez and his strange brew of tropical rhythms, wonderfully outrageous electronic sounds and unique, playful vocal style into the consciousness of a world wide audience. Building on the success of their previous album 'Deseperanza' as well as the upcoming 'Salvadora Robot' (both out via Soundway Records),  Álvarez has concocted two new gems exclusively for this NYCT release.

Recorded inside Álvarez's Isaac Newton Studios, these quirky yet seductive experiments in cumbia are further proof that Meridian Brothers and their rare style are unmatched in the modern landscape. Lamento Calavera, a mostly instrumental, electronic beat and synthesizer infused study on cumbion (fast cumbia) builds at a frenetic pace until the choir (as done by Los Maravillosos) resets. El Faraón Miente, a jazzy mid-tempo cumbia, rides along effortlessly with its carousel-like melody and bubbling Peruvian-influenced guitar riffs. With a cover illustration by Álvarez himself, this is another automatic collector's piece from Meridian Brothers and Names You Can Trust.

For many, the Summer months are all about taking time off and chilling in the sunshine. But the Mullet Records crew like to do things a little different, and boy have we been busy... very busy, as we proudly bring you... 'Tad Wily - Garage Love (Remixed)' - a remix package that oozes quality and bursting at the seams with digital dancefloor delights!

So let's not mess around and kick things off with the big guns, as we proudly bring a certain Belgium duo into the frame... anyone for some Spirit Catcher?

It should come as no great surprise that 'Spirit Catcher' have finally ended up collaborating with Mullet Records, as they've arguably been our favourite producers for some years, and Mullet head-honcho 'Justin Winks' almost had kittens when this remix landed in his inbox. To us, this remix epitomizes everything that's great about the Nu-Disco scene, as Spirit Catcher deliver a synth-tastic session of broken beats, Boogie basslines 'n swells that few can equal... in our opinion this is quite simply what it's all about, so forget about reading the rest of this Press Release, and just go and dance your socks off to this beautiful slice of Belgium truffle!

Actually don't do that, as we have four more gargantuan remixes to tell you about :o) as next up are the mighty 'Casio Social Club', who ease off on their familiar Boogie shuffle and slide us into a euphoric seven minute pad laden 4/4 beauty of major chord heaven.

Moving on we have Mullet regular 'Elijah Collins', who's 'Garage Love' spin heads straight to the darkness, as his 'computer love' remix totally goes off, with vocoders Mellotron strings and a double-drop that'll rinse any dancefloor clean!

Next-up we have new-comer 'Del Strange', who's recent EP on Faze Action Records blew us away. So it was a no-brainer to bring Del into the frame and boy does he deliver, as he sticks close to the sound of Tad's original version but with added B-Boy percussion and lead synth trickery... anyone for an Electro tom-tom?

Lastly we have Mullets' latest signing 'Fishing Vest', who go all-out sunshine slo-mo Balearic, as this almost reggae tinged melodic musical merry-go-round, closes this wonderful EP perfectly!

Here's some newness from the lab that I wanted to share. A reworking/remix of the classic song: The Jets - "Crush on You". A looong time ago I heard a remix of this song, not knowing who the original song was by (I was madd young at the time). After coming across hearing the original song, I felt compelled to create a small remix. I hope you all can dig. If not, it's all good. By the way, the girl in the pic is the keyboard player (Kathi) in the video. I felt like she needed to be seen since she was in the back. =)
