Years ago I was introduced to a magical land replete with Canadian woods, green grass & a pond (perfect dance floor!), with a crystal clear creek flowing through…  I decided that I would throw a festival there and commemorate my 40th birthday while doing so.  Fast forward to July 2023 and my vision became reality when I brought Dirty Saffi to headline alongside specially crafted local artists whom had each touched my heart and directly shaped my DJ career.

This is the live recording of my set at that amazing event. I had the honour of opening for my long time fave artist Psymmetrix just before sunset.  I share with you this special set that will forever be in my heart.

This is my first attempt at mixing State Alchemy's Local is lekker [Free downloadable] album from start to finish varying in BPM range.
Experimenting with BPM fluctuations, my favorite part is ''BPM Loadshedding'' at 41minutes in :)
Hope I did it justice.

Soundblasting is proud to present the V/A - INDIGENOUS FOREST compiled by Intropin based in South Africa. He takes you into his universe with the following scenario:
Beneath the moonlit sky, where the air is thick with the scent of damp earth and ancient pine, there lies a forest unlike any other. This is the Indigenous Forest, a living, breathing realm steeped in the wisdom of millennia. It is here, between the tall, gnarled trees, where the veil between worlds grows thin, and the creatures of myth and legend roam free. As the golden rays of dawn pierced through the canopy, a chorus of birdsong filled the air, weaving an intricate tapestry of melody. The villagers nearby often spoke of it in hushed tones, warning tales of strange sounds echoing between the trunks, a harmony that seemed to grow and shift as night falls, as if the very woods were alive with music. The wisdom of the Ancient Ones, the elders of the forest, is whispered by the wind, carried on the rustling leaves, and echoed in the songs of the nocturnal creatures. Each step you take is a step deeper into the Sacred Realm, where time bends, and the rules of the material world no longer apply. Embark on this psychedelic journey through the forest of unique sounds where our creatures come to life.

Growing up in sunny South Africa, she was initiated in the twilight tribe . . . she knows firsthand why the region birthed such a sound. Stomping her way through Johannesburg’s starry nights, she sought the sun, and as the dawn broke through one morning, NYX was reborn. With a lifelong love kindled, she carried her passion across the long waters to Vancouver, pursuing a better balance of night and light. Finally, NYX found the infamous Alluvium festival, and knew she had found her true musical family. 

Since then, NYX has shared the stage with the likes of Space Tribe, Spectra Sonics, Kabayun, Etnica, Menog, Jumpstreet, Ingrained Instincts, and many others.
She was signed to PsynOpticz Records in 2017 and has released two VA’s with the label – Seekerz and Seekerz II 

An adamant acolyte of the straight 148, NYX may still play coy, soft and sweet, seducing you with soft strings and trippy textures. She may punish with pulsing bass or dazzle with swirling synths, guiding you through till morning with stars in your eyes. Please welcome NYX of the Night.
