Amapiano originated in the vibrant street parties of South Africa.

The genre is a smooth blend of deep house, jazz, and lounge elements with a touch of afrobeat vibes.

It's been a while since I've released a set. The situation in Palestine has been heavy on my mind, influencing my creativity and mood. 

This set is structured a bit differently than how I typically structure my sets. It opens with an intro by Edward Said, addressing the stereotypes that often surround Arab culture. From there, it transitions into a serene Munajat tune, before delving into darker, more melancholic tones. As the set progresses, it gradually shifts, ending on a note of happiness and hope, reflecting my views for the future.

Since 2008, O-RAY has been captivating audiences with his dynamic DJ skills. His name is synonymous with powerful bass lines, ethnic percussions, and sensual melodies. 

His current sound is a captivating fusion of tech-house and techno rhythms paired with uplifting, soulful melodies that echo the essence of old-school house. He also seamlessly incorporates chill afro house and amapiano sounds, creating a versatile and immersive musical experience.

Between 2009 and 2014, O-RAY was a prominent figure in Montreal's club scene, performing at renowned venues like Salon Daome, Red Room (Joverse), Velvet, and more. A notable highlight of his career was in 2013 when he collaborated with TTBA Event Lab to launch Habitat (1458 de la Montagne) in Montreal. This new club became a hotspot, hosting acclaimed DJs such as Butch, Yokoo, Oxia, Gab Rhome, Audiofly, Jimpster, Izhevski, Edu Imbernon, Lucca Baccheti, NU, Danny Howells, East End Dubs, James What, among others.

After a 6-year hiatus to focus on his professional career, O-RAY made a return to the music scene in 2020 as a co-founder of https://soundcloud.com/soundmomentevents. Since then, he has been instrumental in organizing electrifying parties in Montreal, and channeling his unique energy and creativity into each event and setting a new standard in the music scene.
