TECHNICAL ADVICE


For successful sound reinforcement I do recommend my listeners to consider the following advice


EQs

Be gentle with EQs. Often more is less


Before you are considering to put your EQ to some fancy setting think about doing some thing to your room first. Put foam where speakers meet walls. Put foam into the corners.


Passive Speaker Power 

Amps always need to be much larger than the speaker. Think of them as a cable which gives them life. Make sure to keep your actual power output monitored to not melt your drivers. 


Rave Recycling 

If you really want to keep your old speakers consider removing their passive crossovers and bring them to the recycling center before melting them at the next rave. Wire every driver directly with short or heavy cables till the amp without makeshift connections in between. 

Bi-Amp is just the beginning 



Green Energy 

To save electricity use modern class D digital amps if you want to play loud.

Rave PA 

Always put the crossovers before the amps instead of behind. When an enclosure has more than one type of driver but only a two wire coming out of it you might want to check again. 


Crossovers

Use smart crossovers settings:

Study your enclosures, drivers and your space. Apply math and magic whenever possible. 



Hifi 

Be gentle to your hifi speakers, they might not be made for this on excessive loads over longer times could take damage. Neighbours need to be taken into concern. 




Headphones

Less EQ might be more as you might have read already. 

Please do not increase treble or bass beyond two 2 Decibel to protect your health and your trip when listening on high volume.

 If there are frequencies which bother you try to find them and get them down. Don't increase other frequencies or this might result in lowered performance of reinforcement. 


SOUNDBOKS

If you are playing KETAGARNICH on a Soundboks, try a  flat EQ setting first, especially when playing at max volume. EQs can increase distortion in certain parts of our music and on loud volume this can be very stressful for our ears. So less is often more.


REFERENCE 

All KETAGARNICH performances and tracks have been professionally mastered to perform optimally on large scale and medium sized sound systems as well as on headphones and active PA and studio or reference speakers. Further EQ ing should not be required.
