Welcome to Oatcast! 

We’re Niamh & Helen, two queer lady best friends.  This is a feminist podcast with a comedic, tongue-in-cheek attitude. Listen as we walk you through the trials and tribulations of modern life as queer ladies living in Belfast. 

We talk about everything from life as introverts, unwanted attention and coming out. We think about how our modern feminist identity exists in the North of Ireland as we suffer through dinosaur politicians who can’t seem to get their act together.

Right up front, we talk a lot of sh*t. But it’s good sh*t, feminist sh*t, authentic and maybe even a little bit funny sh*t from time to time.

Empowering women is a vocation that we each take to heart. We want to help women express themselves in all contexts where they encounter violence and the apparent impunity of patriarchy. We hope more than anything that all women in the world dare to speak and take action to change the world, so that consciences are increasingly awakened. We will always be on the side of the victims and we want to provide everyone with the means to react on all levels. To this end, we invite interested social workers, jurists and lawyers to join our cause.

Nous désirons aider les femmes à s’exprimer dans tous les contextes où elles rencontrent la violence et l’apparente impunité du patriarcat. Nous souhaitons plus que tout que toutes les femmes du monde osent parler et entreprendre des actions pour changer le monde, pour que les consciences s’éveillent de plus en plus. Nous serons toujours du côté des victimes et nous voulons transmettre à toutes les moyens de réagir sur tous les plans. Dans ce but, nous invitons les travailleurs sociaux, les juristes et les avocats intéressés à se joindre à notre cause.
