O.B.F show their impeccable production skills and determination to take reggae music to the next level with “Musica (Remix)”. Released as a celebration for the one-year anniversary of their album “Signz”. The song features Sr. Wilson and Belén Natalí, two top tier Reggae / Urban artists based in Barcelona, making it O.B.F’s first track voiced in Spanish.

Rico O.B.F went back in the studio with the original vocals and worked his magic on the analog desk to deliver this blasting hot “Musica (Remix)”, blending Trap / Drill influences and Dub.

Une nouvelle version du tune « Musica » de Sr.Wilson et Belén Natalí, soit le premier titre d'O.B.F 100% voicé en espagnol. O.B.F - Musica (Remix) Riddim - CLIP

After their debut album ”African Step”, promising Reggae and Dub artists Toroki & Isayah present their brand new album ”Symbol of 1000 Thoughts” together with their studio family! It was produced over the last two years – Toroki took his time to make progress instead of recreating something that he has already done – be it musical or sound – and mixing-wise. The album is versatily packed with 18 tunes, of which only two are dub versions. The sound of fat basslines, energetic drums and atmospheric melodies invite to a unique journey: From saturated and rough Roots Reggae over modern HipHop influences to really heavy and deep electronic Steppers Dub. 

”Symbol of 1000 Thoughts” is about reinvention, gaining perspective and making progress towards a positive society. It’s no surprise that Isayah of course did a lot of vocals on the project, but all the artists that Toroki works together with regularly – the studio family – are part of the album: PiyaZawa on flute, Dantey and Ical Ises on vocals. The energetic vocalists Awa Fall, Fitta Warri and Wortfetzen are featured as special guests. Last but not least it also includes instrumental tunes to enjoy some deep dub diving. Toroki, Isayah and all participating artists proof impressively what they are capable of.

We are super happy to introduce a next 12” in the “Songs Of Upliftment” series with the dubplate provider Jah Baker (part of the Rootikal Vibes HiFi sound system from Besançon, France) on the musical recipe. This one comes with a good dose of ‘classical’ spices and borrows from the master chefs from days gone - Tchaikovsky and Dvořák…
Both have been tested and approved in the dances near and far by the likes of Iration Steppas, Dandelion, of course Rootikal Vibes and Lion’s Den and several other sounds… ‘Movements Of A Swan’ and ‘New World Skank’ - now served on a 12inch vinyl for each and everyone !

Awareness

O.B.F (Original Bass Foundation) are a French dub and reggae sound system based on the outskirts of Geneva. The crew, made up of producer & selector Rico, operator G and manager Stef promote forward thinking dub music.

Heavily influenced by Jamaican reggae, 90s UK dub and contemporary urban music, O.B.F’s sound is distinctive and versatile. They started off as an underground sound system playing at Genevan squat parties. The unique sound of Rico’s productions rapidly gained hype within the dub community and in 2006 O.B.F started putting on their own nights at "Le Zoo" L’Usine, Geneva’s biggest club. Since then, their notorious "Dubquake" nights have become a true institution in the European night scene. The interest around the sound system has grown exponentially ever since.

One of the keys to O.B.F’s success is the unparalleled energy that emanates from the whole crew. You only need to take part in one of their sessions to start feeling part of the family. This ability to bring people together can be seen in the list of artists they have worked with over the years : Sr. Wilson, Linval Thompson, Iration Steppas , Tippa Irie , Killa P , Belén Natalí, Pupajim, Charlie P, Biga*Ranx , Nazamba...

In 2014, O.B.F launched their own imprint "Dubquake Records", an independent record label focused on promoting future dub and reggae. Now with over fifty releases including O.B.F's two stand out albums Wild (2014) & SIGNZ (2020), the label has widened its horizons, producing and distributing documentary films.
