Mechalab’s latest EP, released under the Colombian label Asylum Recordings, delivers three intense and meticulously crafted tracks. The title track, “Destroy Our Future,” is a raw, driving hard techno piece that has been remixed by Spanish artist Temprano, adding hypnotic rhythms and tight textures to the original’s aggressive energy. The EP also features “Failed Testphase,” an experimental industrial techno track layered with glitch elements and distorted soundscapes, creating a tense and dark atmosphere. With this release, Mechalab continues to push the boundaries of his signature hard techno and schranz sound, establishing himself as a forward-thinking force in the scene.

Being immersed deeper into the underground world of techno, we have here an EP of FIVE songs. Taking an independent approach, dancing around the sub-genres of my favored techno, being UKG, Industrial, Progressive and Hypnotic basslines. This is music with no clear vocabulary; however, this does not mean there’s not a message. Each song speaks raw emotion translated using sounds, the common ground being the hypnotizing kickdrum one can find themselves lost in. The German DJ and producer looks back at more than two decades of performing his intense techno sets at clubs and festivals all around the globe. His distinctive sound combines hard driving beats, rough industrial rhythms and melodic depth and has evolved ever since the early 2000's. During the past 20 years O.B.I. has published hundreds of tracks which received much acclaim and support. 

His 2021 release "Gib Mir Alles" took over the scene by storm and foreshadows what is yet to come.
