SOLUCHI OGUGUA was born into a family of musicians with her father Sir. Humphrey Nwokolobia-Agu being the composer of the famous ‘Things Fall Apart’ soundtrack and many other renditions of the sort. Her brother OBIWON is one of the most sought after Nigerian artistes.

SOLUCHY (as she is fondly called) is a psalmist of no mean repute. She is fondly known as the ‘Baroness of Worship’. She carries a strong anointing and has ushered many into the inner sanctums of the presence of God.

Her journey into music started early at the age of 11 and she wrote her first complete song at the age of 18. A graduate of Economics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), with a Masters Degree in Human Resources from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom, she became a singing sensation right from her university days where she ministered in various fellowships and also held the post of Music Director for her school fellowship at the time.

She has since then served as Music & Worship Director in various Churches and currently serves in this capacity at House on the Rock, The Refuge, Abuja where she ministers with the choir and as a Psalmist.

Beyond being a worship leader, she is also a Songwriter and is working on her first album that will capture her soulful and jazz feel as she ushers in the presence with her sultry voice. Her E.P. titled ‘A New Sound’ is a foretaste of songs from the forthcoming album, songs tastefully crafted to reach the innermost parts of your soul, with its quality, depth and lyrics.

Off stage, she is a loving wife, an ardent blogger, a Counselor, an HR consultant and has a passion for capacity building and empowerment. She is very playful, outspoken and a fun person, but altogether an unrepentant Jesus Lover!

Obiora Obiwon’s professional music career journey started 10 years ago in 2005 with the release of his first EP (short form album) entitled “Get ‘Em Up”. The EP’s lead single with the same title was remarkable for pioneering the use of 3-Dimensional Animation in Nigerian music videos. 

His transition from the secular Pop/R’n’B genre in 2008 was initially received with mixed reactions but has slowly gained acceptance in recent times. The R'n’B-Singer-Turned-Urban-Gospel-Minister received his first gospel music honours at the 2013 National Gospel Awards and has gone ahead to receive multiple honours at notable gospel music industry platforms. Between 2014 and early 2015 alone, Obiwon clinched 7 gospel music industry awards for the stellar work on his 2013 album, Gold Water. 

Prior to this, Obiora Obiwon’s previous work was also recognized and awarded at major Nigerian music industry award platforms, The Nigeria Music Awards and The Headies (HipHop World Awards). The impact and influence of both his faith-based and preceding work continue to grow both locally and internationally. 

The release of new single “Floodgates (The New Overflow)” on his birthday JUne 9, 2015 gives a foretaste of the 10th anniversary projects, which will include an anniversary album entitled “Floodgates: The Beginning Of The New Overflow”. On the full album scheduled for a November release, Obiwon further mines his musical romance with long-time production collaborator Phat-E, credited for past Obiwon hits including “Hail My King”, “Obi Mu O” and the bulk of work on his last two albums. On the new single, Obiwon and Phat-E experiment with a mix of both conventional and unconventional sounds, as well as lyrics rife with symbolism. 

The months ahead will see the artiste announcing the entire project plan for the commemoration of the anniversary.

As a youth my passion for music was evident. Growing up I experienced many trials and fell victim to my circumstances (thank God for JESUS). At the age of 8 I entered my first talent show and knew after that experience what I was meant to do. I didn't realize that God had his righteous right hand upon me because I didn't know HIM. I went to church maybe two or three times as a child and those visits only occurred on Easter. I pursued my passion but fell short. The music I produced was pleasing to the ear but damaging to the soul. Deep inside I was empty and ashamed,but didn't understand why. I had conformed to the worlds standards not realizing GOD had set me aside for kingdom work. My teen years was both exciting and depressing. Label deals came and went. Doors opened and closed. I had a large following and surrounded myself with ungodly people. Ultimately my lack of knowledge lead me into a downward spiral of destructive behavior. Alcohol and drugs became my safe-haven and problems with the authorities soon became my reality. It wasn't until I feed up with being feed up when I heard the voice of the Lord as clear and audible as my music. I was incarcerated for something I didn't do and very bitter and angry at my life. I realized at that moment that there is an unseen GOD.The Holy Spirit brought to my remembrance all my past mischievous activities I had gotten away with-without suffering any consequences. On that cold day in a lonely cell, I picked up a bible for the first time in my life. I read and studied it diligently. Upon my release I had a new mind,spirit ,soul and outlook on life. What once was fun had become detestable and what  I once considered fairytale was now very real. I went to church for the first time as an adult in 2008 and have been going ever since.This is a piece of my story, this book is being updated everyday. My walk with Christ has not been all peaches and cream (LOL). But I am better than I was yesterday and ten times better than I was ten years ago. It's a journey I am more than willing to take.
