Agency Artist Disclosure Compilation features cutting edge underground taste through diverse electronic bass sounds stemming from the Street Ritual Agency. Spearheaded by our booking agency, the 2nd Division to the Street Ritual brand, we're repping fresh West Coast to East Coast talent.  Having signed new artists, 2015 has been an evolving journey and we want to welcome our new artists into our creative & conscious community.  A fine visual collaboration of our vision is displayed as artwork, designed by Jeremy Crimboli - an ever talented graphic designer.

The compilation consists of 13 tracks by our agency artists: AfroQben, CharlestheFirst, Devin Kroes, Dov1, Duffrey, KarmasynK, Knowa Lusion, Living Light, Mihkal, Nico Luminous, Party Wave, Secret Recipe, and Sugarbeats.  Revealing multi-tempo bass rhythms, authentic glitch-hop, intricate patterns, hip-hop fusions, acoustic amalgamations, melodic escapes, psychedelic grooves, soul, crescendo synth effects, alluring composition and leads, it’s an elevating journey of expansions and creativity.  An overall collaborative project, we further the importance of team building and knowledge sharing.

CharlestheFirst - Raven

In an age of innumerable bedroom producers and DIY beatmakers, encountering one with a distinctive flavour to their music is becoming near impossible. This is refreshingly not the case, however, for Deft (aka Yip Wong). Having already manned several flagship labels of dance music such as WotNot, Brownswood, Hypercolour and Project Mooncircle (who billed Deft for their 2013 BR session), Deft draws musical, technical and stylistic influence from anything and everything in his musical creations. Initially a drummer, he now produces music which audibly tips its hat to hip hop, footwork, house, jungle and beyond. Check his 2014 "Emeralds" track for what we believe to be the ultimate embodiment of all of Deft's different musical pedigrees.

His latest venture on 20/20 LDN Recordings, the Blackest EP, takes a step back from the forward-propelling, Machinedrum-esque footwork drum rhythms that are prevalent in plenty of Deft's previous work. Here, the focus is on the deeper and darker. "After hearing what [label founders] Ivy Lab had in mind for 20/20, it instantly brought me back to the early beats scene," says Deft. "The beats scene was something that got me excited back when it emerged properly. I felt that excitement again with 20/20." Each of Blackest's five tracks stand out for varying reasons, but it's the penultimate one – a Tehbis and Touchy Subject collaboration – that has resonated with us beyond comparison. A track that seems to continually metamorphose within its 3.5 minute timeframe, so many musical territories are broached that it's pretty impossible to summarise. Initially luring you in through an ethereal world of crystallised synth fragments, the forecast slowly grows murkier, as the entire tracks gets sucked into dizzying whirlwind of dubby drums and electric static. A notable comeback from a truly talented beatsmith.

Blackest EP will be available both digitally and on vinyl on 8th April via 20/20 LDN Recordings and all good record stores.

Feels incredible to be releasing my Debut Album, it's been such a long process and such a long challenge it kind of felt like this day would never come, but it did.

Conceptually the album is about romanticizing a naive world view. That naiveness and ignorance is something to be cherished. There's something really beautiful about the perfect worldview you have as a kid, that the world is harmless, beautiful and good. The more you learn and experience though the more you realise everything isn't perfect. So the less you know the more beautiful it is, it's the things we haven't done, the places we don't know, that have this unquestionable beauty to it. it's this world i'm trying to mirror with my album, the one that stays in your imagination.

Musically i knew i wanted to do a sonic representation of the concept, blending worldly sounds with small bedroom type samples and soundscapes. I really loved the idea of those two polarizing things being the two main factors that would lay the ground for the album.
