LOS PASTORES presents “THANKYOU PORVENIR EP“ (OBLACK 009)

There is a saying in Spain "the fifth is ever good" that ´Los Pastores´ just made up with “the nineth is ever good”. But, who cares? In Arauz and Snna´s fold it doesn´t matter. There is no time to rest. There is no place for posers. This is a “non stop dancing” scene. In this new EP called  ´Thankyou Porvenir´, which includes a track with the same name, ´Los Pastores´ have shown off their strongest electronic character, leaving behind the sassy, cocky House to get to their deepest side. In the track that gives name to the EP, Thankyou Porvenir, they´ve discovered a sensitive side to their music that we didn´t know yet, searching for an atmospheric background to connect with some beautiful but shy vocals. Just the right amount of salt and pepper. After the break, the track carries on with a firm and fat setup for the bassline, that mixes perfectly with the percussion, introduced at the second level. A graceful piece that is intimate and almost conversational. It invites one to close their eyes and dream, taking a laid-back journey into the deepest feelings that invade us. The british producer Luke Solomon wanted to add his own remix of “Thankyou Porvenir” to the Oblack Collection. A remix that is gonna give more than one broken bone in the hip and pelvis. It is music strictly made to dance to, full of energy and showing the craziest side of House. A track where horns and whistles can be heard, even pixelated voices, with an insane 8beat path that gives to the song the exact amount of tasty flavour. No joke fellas! This is a kind of slam-dunk piece for Solomon.

The third track helping this EP to get even hotter is called “Madness”. Loco amigo! It comes with a toxic groove, slowmo style that would easily mesmerize you. The melody line is so simple, yet so powerful, with an easy and playful structure. Even with the repetitive nature of this piece, it is amazing how you remain captured throughout the whole song. A propper BINGO!

“Floros cat” is the last track of the EP, by ´Los Pastores´ with Miguel Lobo from Madrid. Finally, here is the techno. Here it comes, a kick thats stinks of Detroit. It's commanding in its message: This is techno and we need more bpms, more reverb and more distorsion. It´s an almost poisoned track, especially when that addictive Detroit kick comes and goes. This is a serious banger that closes “Thankyou Porvenir EP” (Oblack 009) which places ´Los Pastores´ at the epicentre of the Spanish electronic scene. Nice cars and women should be indebted to artists like this. Los Pastores, gracias por venir.

No hay noveno malo, ¿o eran quinto? Qué más da, en el redil electrónico de Arauz y Snna –tanto monta monta tanto- no hay lugar para el descanso –aquí se baila sin parar- y el postureo solo está permitido si roza lo bucólico, oiga. En este nuevo “Thankyou Porvenir” (Original Mix), tema que nomina el EP, Los Pastores se muestran mucho más electrónicos que nunca. Dejando atrás el house cálido, cosmopolita e irreparablemente hedonista -marca de la casa pastoril- se lanzan a espacios menos felices y ociosos, más mentales. Un toque de deep taciturno para un desarrollo tech en el que los guiños vocales y las brumas sintéticas le ponen sal y pimienta al asunto. Tras el break central el tema continua su desarrollo firme, bien atemperado, y apoyado en ese permanente bass-line -bien fat- que tan bien marida con lo percusivo, ubicado aquí en un discreto segundo plano. En definitiva: gracias por el riesgo.

El remix que de este “Thankyou Porvenir” ha perpetrado el británico Luke Solomon es un suerte de fanfarria marciana y chicaguera que eleva el original a los altares del disloque de caderas y lo ubica en el centro gravitatorio de la música de baile: el dancefloor. House alocado y futurista, en el que no faltan pitos, claxones y hasta voces pixeladas. Desmadre controlado en clave 8beats.  Solomon se sale del mapa con esta revisión, sin duda. Aquí hay mucha guasa, camaradas.

El tercer tema en discordia de este OBLACK009 se llama “Madness”. Locos -¿o es mejor decir tontos?- serán los que no se sometan, por vocación propia, al bailongo tóxico, slow y tórrido que nos trae este tema pastoril. Su estructura es simple, pura, y lo que lo hace diferente es todo el aderezo de sonidos que van saliéndonos al paso en su escucha. Juguetón, machacón, bien pegadito a tu cintura de avispa… y chulo, muy chulo.

“Floros cat” con el madrileño Miguel Lobo cierra el EP. Y al fin surge el techno, el bombo marcial con aroma de Detroit que frunce el ceño a cada beat. Y suben los bmps y se suceden los efectos reverberantes, distorsionados, retorcidos. Y vuele ese bombo gordo, adictivo… ¿venenoso? Sin duda, un temazo para cerrar este “Thankyou Porvenir EP” (Oblack 009) que ubica a Los Pastores, de nuevo, en una posición de excepción dentro del panorama de la electrónica nacional que se baila y a través de la que también se piensa. Dale Lina, que llegamos tarde. Y gracias a ti por venir, tonta…

By now we have become used to sudden changes of direction; but we’d already gathered his real intentions following the popular remix of “Lonely Stars In Open Skies” on All Day I Dream with which Luca jump started 2014.

Now OVO, the eagerly awaited new Luca Bacchetti EP, is here!

With this work on his ENDLESS imprint, Luca seems to be delineating a new soundscape, maintaining the psychedelia he introduced into his productions a few years ago; but now more synthetic and in some ways even minimalist.
In OVO we can find a brace of dancefloor tracks, No Gravity and The Space Between Us, that maintain and harness Luca's emotional and intricate atmospheres whilst also employing powerful sounds and elements that embrace the movement of the body. Mature, emotional Techno, where ethereal dream-like atmospheres find a singular expression and their own distinct identity. It is no coincidence that the whole EP was recorded entirely high up in the Tosco Emiliano Apennines: a place where, for Luca, Nature is the element that most influences this new aural pathway. As he himself states: “It’s this contrast between isolated lands and the chaos of the big city that produces this state of being: a new dialogue. They are two worlds which overlap within my soul: when I’m in New York I think of these mountains and when I’m here I think of the bustle of tour life .. but it’s up here that I find the seed, in this case OVO.”

The beautiful ambient masterpiece, OVO, was recorded in December 2013 and features Stefano Onorati, jazz musician and long time friend of Luca. The 15 minute opus was then finished in April 2014 and now sees its unveiling.

Pornbugs is the alter ego of ‘Sven & Sven’ - two electronic music aficionados that have played together since 2005 - playing and pro- ducing deep-tech house sounds aimed firmly at the dancefloor.

Here with their Echoing In My Mind EP for Sublease Recordings, they are back doing what they do best - making high octane dance music with a touch of class.

The title track is a firing deep tech workout with a clean production and distinctive sound design, enriching the ever present dancefloor tension.

Sublease is back with three tracks from three relatively new talents, each with their own take on deep, groove-laden house music. 

TERANA kicks things off with Connection, a vibrant deep house track that reflects TERANA’s mission to spread love through music. Rooted in her identity as a producer and vocalist, the track features her own vocals intertwined with driving grooves, hypnotic harmonies and bouncy progressions. 

TERANA was a part of the mixmasters retreat with label boss Steve Bug, along with the Swiss beatmaker Marco Weber who takes up the third track on this release - Stubborn Trip. Created in Ibiza, this track brings a deep, groovy low end and bright, flickering synth stabs, before developing into an expansive and electrifying vibe. 

Wrapping it up is Doomar with a sparkling low slung roller with squelchy synths and an engaging vocal sample.

The ever prolific Mihai Popoviciu pops up on Sublease with three tracks of assured house music. 

The Romanian DJ and producer has built a powerful reputation for quality electronic music that spans techno to tech and deeper sounding house. Here he dives into his more grooving side with three tracks that set a distinct mood. 

What I Need brings a strong vocal together with drifty synths and tight drums to make an atmospheric, rolling cut. 

Come Out edges up the intensity slightly with firing percussion and a slinky bassline. 

Temptation sets the sights firmly on the dancefloor with a driving groove, bubbling bassline and dreamy, deep chord stabs.

From 2012 the label Oblack was set up as an exclusive platform of music expression of Los Pastores, Snna and Nacho Arauz. From Valencia -if Ibiza excuses us- this label bets on undergound house produced on a digital platform, and especially vinyl. Up until now, several artists have released on the label: Luke Solomon, Justin Harris, Yaya, Tuccillo, Filsonik, Brett Johnson, Jay Haze, Phil Weeks, Djebali, Italoboyz or Neverdogs, among others. Their releases- with the highligts of 'Other Sentido EP’, ‘Smoke Game EP’ and 'Discover Base EP' -have been played by masters such as Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Apollonia, The Martinez Brothers, Loco Dice, Mirko Loko, Catz N Dogz and Ricardo Villalobos. They have currently have put out 19 releases, and they have signed as producers 11 of those in vinyl. At present, their 'Vinyl Only' project is the one they feel the most excited about, in so far as it brings back the most genuine format for djs, the 12”. In this new division they have released their first album- under the name of ‘Los Pastores with collaborations’- in which they have guests as System2, Javi Bora, Aldo Cadiz, Juliche Hernandez and Hanfry Martinez. 


Moreover, since 2013 their already infamous 'Oblack Label Nights' have taken their very own signature all around Spain. In this parties they have shared the dj booth with artists like Yaya, Tuccillo, Phil Weeks, Arado, Andrew Grant, Tato, Filsonik or Neverdogs, organising also their successful and acclaimed dates in Ibiza venues such as Destino, No Name, Sankeys or City Hall in Barcelona.
