YAYA presents “NO AFTER TODAY EP” (OBLACK012) Special edition colour vinyl


Los Pastores label -Oblack- receives -from the city of Torino- the renowned DJ and producer Yaya -one of the main ones on the German-Tunisian Loco Dice's label Desolat- to sign an EP that undoubtedly means a turning point in the history of the pastoral label par excellence; this is why it's the first colored vinyl that the Spanish label, based in Ibiza, publishes, being the artist and quality sound deserving. Besides, the payroll of the remixers is exceptional with the international Luca Bacchetti and Arado- plus, Los Pastores - being a  perfect companions in sonic adventures.

In "Not after today" Yaya brings out a mixture of sounds that makes everything it reaches taste and smell like Africa, Italy and, of course, Ibiza. The original that nominates this EP exudes an underground groove assigned to house, mediterranean, soulful and infectious, that goes in crescendo while the tunes goes on and it makes it almost irresistible on the dance floor. The tremendous percussive domain shown by Yaya in every beat and the way he works the tune until the very last sound makes what is needed for a set on the dancefloor to break this summer in Ibiza, among other fascinating places to be dancing. It will definitely be a tune in Carl Cox's sessions this summer on the white island and, of course, in the afternoons and evenings of Ushuaia, Space, Zoo Project, etc.. where Yaya plays every summer.

The remix of his compatriot Luca Bacchetti, tempers and softens its percussive power and firmly applies tempos more tech that adapts it to electronic cosmopolitan club spaces. Bacchetti knows what it takes and by respecting the original version he manages to globalize a track in its original version that  internationalizes and expands it to long hour dance spaces.

Meanwhile the revision presented to us by Los Pastores, playing at home with Oblack, offers us a very particular view of the tune that gives name to the EP. Breaks, winks, negroid vocals and martian pastoral sounds are so characteristic within the sound of Snna and Arauz's universe and, above all, a warm cadence, that sticks to the skin and therefore is a very sexy catapult it into spaces of pure and hedonistic splendor. Great work pastores, it's time to dance.

Finally the German Arado converts "Not after today" in to a dark passage, underground and unfriendly to sunny places that are too exposed to light. El sello de Los Pastores -léase Oblack-, recibe -desde la ciudad de Torino- al reputado dj y productor Yaya –uno de los principales espadas del sello Desolat del alemán-tunecino Loco Dice- para que firme un EP que, sin duda, significa un punto de inflexión en la historia del label pastoril por antonomasia; no por nada es el primer vinilo de colores que publica el sello español, radicado en Ibiza, y es que el personaje y la calidad de su sonido lo merece. Además la nómina de remixers es de excepción con los internacionales Luca Bacchetti y Arado –además de los nacionales Los Pastores- como perfectos acompañantes de andanzas sónicas.

En este “No after today” Yaya saca a relucir esa mixtura sonora que hace que todo lo que toca sepa y huela a África pasando por Italia y, por supuesto, Ibiza. El original que nomina este EP destila un groove underground adscrito al house, altamente mediterráneo, soulero e infeccioso, que va in crescendo –pisando fuerte- conforme avanza el tema y que lo hace casi irresistible en la pista de baile. El tremendo dominio percusivo que demuestra Yaya en cada beat, el saber alicatar el tema hasta el mismo tuétano y el toque vocal le pone el aderezo necesario para convertirlo en un fijo de los dancefloors que romperán este inminente verano en Ibiza, entre otros lugares fascinantes para el baile. Seguro que será un tema fijo en las sesiones de Carl Cox este verano en la isla blanca y, por supuesto, en las tardes y noches de Ushuaia, Space, Zoo Project, etc. donde Yaya pincha cada estío.

Bacchetti sabe lo que lleva entre manos y respetando el original lo que consigue es globalizar un track que en su versión primigenia lo que hace es internacionalizarlo y expandirlo a espacios más abiertos a los bailes de largas madrugadas.

Por su parte la revisión que nos presentan Los Pastores, jugando en casa como capos del sello Oblack, nos ofrece una visión muy particular del tema que da nombre al EP. Lo dotan de pegada, de esos breaks, guiños, vocales negroides y sonidos marciano-pastoriles tan característicos dentro del universo sonoro de Snna y Arauz y, sobre todo, de una cadencia cálida, pegada a la piel y, por ello, muy sexy que lo catapultan hacia espacios y estancias propicias al esplendor hedonista puro y duro. Gran trabajo pastores, a bailar.

A1- Yaya - No After Today (Original Mix)

From 2012 the label Oblack was set up as an exclusive platform of music expression of Los Pastores, Snna and Nacho Arauz. From Valencia -if Ibiza excuses us- this label bets on undergound house produced on a digital platform, and especially vinyl. Up until now, several artists have released on the label: Luke Solomon, Justin Harris, Yaya, Tuccillo, Filsonik, Brett Johnson, Jay Haze, Phil Weeks, Djebali, Italoboyz or Neverdogs, among others. Their releases- with the highligts of 'Other Sentido EP’, ‘Smoke Game EP’ and 'Discover Base EP' -have been played by masters such as Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Apollonia, The Martinez Brothers, Loco Dice, Mirko Loko, Catz N Dogz and Ricardo Villalobos. They have currently have put out 19 releases, and they have signed as producers 11 of those in vinyl. At present, their 'Vinyl Only' project is the one they feel the most excited about, in so far as it brings back the most genuine format for djs, the 12”. In this new division they have released their first album- under the name of ‘Los Pastores with collaborations’- in which they have guests as System2, Javi Bora, Aldo Cadiz, Juliche Hernandez and Hanfry Martinez. 


Moreover, since 2013 their already infamous 'Oblack Label Nights' have taken their very own signature all around Spain. In this parties they have shared the dj booth with artists like Yaya, Tuccillo, Phil Weeks, Arado, Andrew Grant, Tato, Filsonik or Neverdogs, organising also their successful and acclaimed dates in Ibiza venues such as Destino, No Name, Sankeys or City Hall in Barcelona.
