We are happy to welcome back our brother Silvahfonk from Delft for his second exclusive Bern Bass Podcast! Before becoming Silvahfonk, the young Dutchman's alias was Energy. If you don’t understand why, you’ve obviously never seen him drop tunes. His fast mixing, original selection, the way he involves the crowd with his infectious style and his never ending energy have been trademarks since day one. In 2005, he won two Dutch drum & bass awards as ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’ and ‘Best DJ’ and since 2007 he has been co-producing deep, musical and rolling drum & bass together with the respected producer and DJ Mindmapper. With releases on Demand Records and more recently on Blendits, Citrus Recordings, Fokuz Recordings, Dispatch Ltd and Critical Music (a co- production with Fre4knc), Silvahfonk relentlessly pushes his sound and a career with more than twenty years of experience. This also resulted in his first gig at the mighty Sun and Bass festival in 2015. This Junglist soldier never fails to impress, always brings it with musical edge and an endless love for the music.

Jordan began his music career in 2010 after being introduced to producers like Daft Punk, the Prodigy and Flying Lotus. While he has produced a mixture of Techno and Hip Hop, his recent productions and DJ sets have centred around Drum and Bass and Jungle.
The US selecta recently dropped the first release on his brand new label Rigatoni, the debut release Rigatoni001 features 3 jungle tracks from himself and fellow Texan producer D.F.G, with the pair due to have more music incoming in 2022 🔊

Activo como DJ durante más de ocho años, sus sets se basan en gran medida en la tensión y la inquietud creada por sonidos atmosféricos acompañados de pausas vibrantes y ritmos extraños, trascendiendo de ser solo una partitura de fondo a la pista de baile, una fórmula que siguió en su Residencia radial anterior “In Limbo” en boxout.fm durante más de un año.
Siempre esforzándose por hacer las cosas de manera diferente, Watashi ha obtenido el apoyo de actos tanto locales como internacionales. Knife presents the podcast 193 by Watashi, with a penchant towards creating dark soundscapes and influences varying from punk-rock, metal to the UK underground, Watashi, the Bangalore based sound artist is treading the grey area between DNB, techno and breaks.
Active as a DJ for more than eight years, his sets draw heavily on the tension and eeriness created by atmospheric sounds accompanied by rattling breaks and odd rhythms, transcending it from being just a background score to the dance floor, a formula he followed in his previous radio residency “In Limbo” on boxout.fm for over a year.
Always striving to do things differently, Watashi has garnered support from both local and international acts. He has shared stage with acts like Stenny, Ivy lab, Aurora Halal, Gigi FM, Skeptical, Pinch, Nothus and Delikwe, CEM3340, Marco Segato. He has been a resident DJ for the infamous parties thrown by Kekao - The Unheard in Kochi and was invited to play at festivals like Far Out Left and Control Alt Delete in Mumbai.

Whenever I am making music, I am mostly just playing around with melodies and sounds, far away from finishing a track. Most of these sessions you will never hear, it’s like jamming musicians in the studio, it will never be released. This set is my way of collecting these sessions and show them to you. It's been over a year since our last contribution to the Appian Sounds Artists Mix Series. I suppose this has coincided with a general slowdown in output from the label (this will change shortly with 2 new releases planned).

I am very happy to introduce Kloor who released a lovely track called Snowcone on our last Various Artists release. We didn't mention it then but Kloor is actually a new alias for Aural Imbalance. For those that don't know Aural Imbalance he is an incredibly talented and versatile producer who has been around for 25 years. From ambient through his "Inhmost" moniker to deep melodic techno, progressive and trance as "Deep Space Organisms" to beautiful Drum n Bass as TQ One - Simon Huxtable can do it all. https://soundcloud.com/auralimbalance


On top of his obvious talent as a producer he certainly knows how to put a mix together too - i would highly recommend tracking these down. Here over 2 hours he has selected timeless works of his own from his various aliases and has also handpicked some of his recent favourites from friends and artists he admires - traversing ambient, deep techno and Drum n Bass.
