The lead track “Milla Ella” is a refreshing lively body mover with a punk attitude. Elements of grunge and haunting guitar trills combine with tight percussion, layered vocal chants and swelling noise into a peaking crescendo that keeps you high throughout.

Next up, “Just Like A Shadow” is reminiscent of dusty desert plains. Evolving and evocative sounds, touches of hang drum, and an otherworldly vocal story take you to another plane, if only for 7 minutes.

We are excited to welcome Apnoea back to mobilee on remix duties, after their debut EP “Why We Breathe” earlier this year. They transform “Just Like A Shadow” into a dark and twisting route through the deeper side of melodic techno, a unique spin, laying the foundations for many a discerning dance floor moment in clubs this summer.

It all started in North of France, when brothers Max & Martin decided to launch Betical. The brothers moved to the UK, immersed themselves into a different club culture that inspired them to forge their sound. Showing their penchant for innovative music. As well as leading music focused lives, they hold an obsession win the equally creative industry of graphic design. As an integral part of their project, the brothers enjoy utilising this skill to create their brand.

Focusing on more original production for 2020, they released their second EP Icon on Atlant Recordings, the beginning of a new era for them. Back on a more club focussed music, as in their beginnings.

Following this exciting move, Betical receive support from key tastemakers like Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, Innellea to name a few, and the lead track Icon placed itself in top 20 Melodic House & Techno on beatport.

The duo didn’t stop there, starting 2021, Betical released « Colors of noise » on Oddity records and Icon « Reincarnation » on Bedrock records.

They are now back on Atlant Recordings with a new EP « Exil » which should make some noise again.

Hundreds of industry actors, promoters and performers have held marches across the country in six cities over the past weekend, to protest against the restrictions that have forced dozens of festivals and events cancellations this summer.  

The “Unmute Us” marches in Amsterdam gathered a multigenerational crowd of thousands of party-lovers dancing around trucks and sound systems, carrying slogans like “Don’t Cancel Culture,” or “Fight for your right to party.”

“We were really blown away by the massive turnout, and the positive vibes that everybody brought to the streets. Very proud to show the rest of the Netherlands: this is what we do best. This is our job, what we live for: organizing large-scale events. I think we have shown both the professionalism of our scene, and the scale of our audience. It’s about time our policymakers show us some respect, and stop muting the voice of more than 100,000 workers and our 1mio+ audience,” told us Bram Merkx, Global Marketing Director at DGTL, and one of the initiators of the protest.

Because of the spread of the delta variant, festivals and large events are banned until the 31st of October. The organizers of the March demand the ban to be lifted on 1st September, as  crowds are already allowed to congregate in massive numbers in football stadium with proof of vaccination, with no effect on infection rates. 

In late June, Dutch clubs and festivals had reopened, but an increase in cases prompted the government to enforce new restrictions. Only one-day events are currently permitted in the country with a maximum of 750 visitors either vaccinated, tested or recovered from the virus.

“It is ridiculous that – even after Saturday’s noise and turnout – we still haven’t heard anything from our government. Almost feels like they are deliberately ignoring our part of society. In an open letter to prime minister Mark Rutte, we demanded answers to our questions before the end of this week. If they keep muting our scene, we will be forced to announce further action. As you have noticed, we are able to mobilize large-scale protests, which remain positive and peaceful. But I sincerely hope they don’t confuse our peaceableness with complacency. Our patience has run out. Unmute us!”

For our final record of the year, we turn to Glasgow's man of the year - Denis Sulta.

Like a good chunk of the Numbers family, he has earnt his stripes working at the coalface of techno aka Rubadub. He has crafted two excellent twelves for our bare-chested cousins at Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and is beginning to carve himself out a reputation as a DJ of some repute, expertly blending in the bangers with Sulta-certified weirdness. Denis is part of a new wave of Glaswegian artists who are doing amazing things and whose music is continuously exciting us.

‘It’s Only Real’ created by Sulta during a burst of inspiration one Sunday, takes us back to a time when techno was intricately melodic but still kicked hard in the club. Made with only the purest of intentions and a dedication to the art of moving heads and feet.

The groove-laden three-track release represents a clear departure from the darker techno
sound of TRICK’s maiden release ‘Watch What Ya Doing’ - further demonstrating Topping’s
versatility as a producer. Kicking off proceedings, the EP’s title track is underpinned by an
infectious vocal sample and the funkiest of beats. While over on the B-side, ‘Let Wa Gan’ is a
darker, moodier number and ‘Galaxy’, featuring the scintillating vocals of Liset Alea, is a
celestial melodic stomper. The collaboration with Liset came about after Topping heard her
vocals on Alex Kid’s ‘Don’t Hide It’. The track quickly became a staple in his sets and he
made the decision to reach out to the Cuban-born singer shortly after.

Romanian locals and Vatos Locos affiliates Floog & Mahony join forces for their 'Boem' EP as the tenth release on VL Recordings. Among the batch of driving dancefloor material is The Martinez Brothers' remix of 'Nu Mai', which showcases the duos signature bumping house style. 

Having previewed on their Fabric Mix in September, the scene has been anxiously anticipating The Martinez Brothers remix. It's undoubtedly a dacnefloor bomb, complete with cosmic textures, infectious melodies and a driving rhythm. It's a brilliant compliment to Floog & Mahony's standout EP that is sure to ring well throughout clubland. 

The 'Boem' EP is set for release November 29.
