Over the years, Berlin has been cited as Oliver Koletzki's main point of reference and, more importantly, his endless source of inspiration. His albums Großstadtmärchen and Großstadtmärchen 2 are wholehearted tributes of the German capital, as its importance is continuously hinted and charted. Friedrichshain, one of Berlin's vibrant districts, has always held a special place in Oliver's heart. This is where he started out when he first moved to the city, and this is where he lives now. Kreuzberg's wall paintings adorn Stil vor Talent's cover sleeves and host their headquarters. There are little to no corners in the city that haven't brought a spark of inspiration into the mix. The Schneeweiss compilation series, now at its 12th installment, is built as a form of tribute to all these particles, tied in together into a series of carefully curated tracks. Each compilation stands at the intersection of the musical and cultural surroundings most prominent of their respective times, acting both as a reminder as well as a timeless sound capsule for the years to come.

The lush 'Reverie' is a gorgeous melodic house track that builds in captivating stages. The smooth groove is overlaid with circling loops of twinkling pads and, eventually, big, broad bass strokes arrive to add weight and deeper emotions. It's the sort of star-gazing tune to trap you in a trance in the middle of the dance floor during the depths of the night.

Both as a standalone tune, and as part of the compilation, this is an essential new offering from the continually excellent Stil Vor Talent label and the hotly tipped Sainte Vie.

I’ve decided to challenge myself to elaborate a completely different state of mind of this track by keeping her beautiful voice. In a few words, I would say that it’s a dark and melancholic journey.

Long-standing British producer John Graham has been a dependable contributor to Bedrock’s back catalogue over the years and an indispensable name in Techno’s progression since the early 90s. Adopting his Quivver moniker once more, the adept sound designer delivers another tantalizing production to Bedrock’s eclectic discography in the form of “Don’t Say Anything”, featuring a heady remix courtesy of Rinzen - the 2-track EP is available now to stream across all platforms, and for purchase via the Bedrock Bandcamp page -- https://bedrockrecords.bandcamp.com/ 


The 2-track EP arrives shortly after Quivver’s abundant placement in John Digweed’s latest 4-disc album project Quattro II, which featured three tracks from the Bedrock favourite: “Nothing New To Feel”, his remix of Digweed & Nick Muir’s “Raise”, and another iteration of “Don’t Say Anything” courtesy of Skanna. “Don’t Say Anything” kicks off with a sultry tech lead that’s driven forward with a metallic percussive bassline. The hypnotic club cut reaches its climax with soulful vocal chops and a swirling synth pattern. For the B-side, Quivver enlisted fast-rising LA-based talent Rinzen to remix the track.  Known for his deep and introspective sound design, Rinzen strips back the original and reimagines it through a darker lens. Rinzen’s take on “Don’t Say Anything” amps up the reverb on the vocal chops and dives into a cinematic melodic ride that builds up into complete euphoria. 

John Digweed’s esteemed imprint has enjoyed an immensely successful start to 2021 with remixes from Kohra and Framewerk on Bedrock's 2003 hit Forge and more recently, Kasper Koman and Matthias Meyer’s take on Guy Mantzur & Khen’s Where Is Home EP. The tastemaker label continues to push the boundaries of their output, channeling the authentic perspectives of both established and upcoming talents. In doing so, the imprint is navigating a new and diverse path for the electronic music scene that celebrates innovation and originality.

Parra for Cuva’s new album Juno contains sounds from around the world yet it was almost entirely produced within the four walls of the artist’s studio in Berlin. That’s the beauty of the 21st century though, one barely has to leave a room to travel far and wide and be inspired by distant places and peoples. Juno takes this global exploration even further with the influence of seven musicians and their different instruments.

As expected, Innellea serves up exciting, forwarding thinking sonics; working the rising melody lines and Indian flute samples of the original around fizzling electronic-edged beats and a pulsating driven atmosphere of power that he brings to all his productions!

Innellea dims the warmth by adding hardcore techno and accelerated beats to the single. "My interpretation of "Her Entrance" was shaped by the desire for extensive and intense club nights. Therefore I decided to adapt the mysterious mood of the original track and to add dynamic hi-hats and driving basslines to create a dancefloor-oriented interpretation," says the producer.

Booka Shade welcome back Moonwalk to deliver their first full EP on the label as the duo reveal their ‘Elessar’ EP to open December.

Having debuted on Blaufield earlier in the year to remix Arm In Arm’s ‘Hunger For Your Vibe’, most notably featured during ARTBAT’s stand out Cercle performance, here we see the pairing return to Booka Shade’s label to deliver their first full EP on the label entitled ‘Elessar’.

Title production ‘Elessar’ opens the EP in emphatic fashion as the pair weave soaring lead synths amongst suspenseful, energy building breaks and sweeping sonics, whilst ‘Cheos’ welcomes as slightly darker aesthetic as rich melodies meet restrained yet punchy percussion arrangements alongside further towering builds and breaks. Last up, the duo combine with fellow Italian Erly Tepshi to unveil the softer yet bright ‘Ikarus’, guided by resonant leads and Elenora’s infectious vocals throughout.

An inspired collaboration which delivers more than the sum of its parts.

Innellea and Kevin De Vries have both broken through in the past couple of years, pushing distinctive, high-energy sounds for the floor. On the ‘Hoffnungsschimmer’ EP, the colourful tones of Innellea’s synth work and Kevin’s hard-hitting drama are a perfect match, resulting in three diverse and unique creations. ‘Das Licht’ and ‘Mondfinsternis’ are both euphoric, peak-time efforts full of stirring elements and forward motion. Atlant embarks on our first journey to the historic port of Marseille as Mark Höffen delivers a majestic 3 track EP, having already given us a preview of his electronic alchemy with the raucous ‘Fear’ on the VOYAGER VA compilation. Faith also marks the return of another Atlant protagonist Losless, this time on remix duty.

Although a familiar face for regular Diynamic event attendees of the last years, it is only now that Innellea is having his actual Diynamic record label debut. Hosting the ninth edition of Diynamic’s „Picture“ series, the Munich-based live-act, DJ and producer is bringing the influence of his melancholic club soundscapes that might best be described as a mix of cinematic and post-apocalyptic, combined with a very distinct novelty: using his own vocals.

The result of this is an intimate listening experience, that hovers somewhere between wanting isolation and the desire to connect.
Diynamic Musics Picture series is a document in time, showcasing an artists current creative output in order to allow the listener to visualize and understand the artist at a certain moment. Fur Coat’s @oddityrecordings label starts 2021 with a fresh edition of the acclaimed various artists “Odd Echoes Vol.4”. This instalment showcases some artists that are already known to the label, as well as many new additions to the family. 

Fur Coat’s commitment to their label over the last few years has seen the imprint amass a dedicated following and an ever growing list of respected and lauded releases. Utilising their Various Artists compilations, the duo have unearthed some extremely exciting talent in this world and given emerging artists a platform to exhibit their craft. 

Diving into the package we are greeted with the melodic and emotional sounds that Oddity has their recognisable stamp. Its clear though that each artist involved has developed their own signature sound and presents something unique to the VA. The first half is formed of well crafted tracks which ease us into the sound. Tracks the build and develop over time and help to kick start out musical exploration. 

In true Oddity style the second half of the package leans towards darker and more driving pieces. Casting the listeners mind to the dancefloors which the tracks were meant to be played on. It's a VA formed of 21 original tracks mostly from first-timers on the label, that all together solidify the identity of the series and sound of Oddity.

EP number ten, called 'Sanctum EP', comes from the Italian Alberth and the Belgian duo Senses Of Mind. The EP consists of two collaborations between the artists and two originals, one from Alberth and Hydrah on the vocals, and one from the Belgian duo.
The first piece of music is 'Sanctum', the title track of the EP. It's a powerful yet beautiful song that is taking its time before coming down to a long, emotional and melancholic break. When the driving synth hits its highest point of tension, an energetic moment is created which swallows you into this amazing song.
Next is 'Amethist', an emotive track with melodies suspended above a spacious techno framework. The song moves towards moments of ambience and dreamy harmonies and then converges into an energetic and heavy drop, revealing its full potential.
The third track is an original from Alberth. It's called 'Youngblood' and in a very unique way this great piece of modern dance music surely tells a story. It's a driving song with captivating vocals from Hydrah, energetic and powerful yet lush at the same time and before it's even finished you want to hear it all over again.
'Heliotrope', the final cut of the release is a Senses Of Mind original and it perfectly represents their style, with beautiful and well designed synths, surely this track will hit you in the dancefloor and adds the last missing touch to make the EP really complete.
