After having worked together for many years on different musical projects, as full as varied, Jean Adam and Julien Sarazin created "Obstynato".

These two musicians know each other very well since they have evolved in the same Jazz Rap's band "Sofa so good" for 3 years. They work currently together on many projects through the collective "La Baroufada" : Concerto pour bidons, casseroles et poubelles en fou majeur, Concerto servi sur un plateau, la B.I.P... With these different experiences the desire to compose together came naturally.

"Obstynato" is a mix of the different experiences, influences and wishes of each member. They draw their inspiration as well from electronic music (Future sounds of jazz, Amon Tobin, Aphex Twin, Tortoise etc.) as from Acid jazz or Groove (Tower Of Power, Me’shell Ndegeocello etc.). Born in the 90's, Julien Sarazin and Jean Adam were strongly influenced by the Jazz fusion movement with famous bands such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against The machine, Tool... 

On stage the band offers as well musical environments, dream-like atmospheres as energetic rhythms and by this way invites the auditor to enter in their different worlds.
