Gayatri Mantra appears in Rig Veda, it is called also Savitri Mantra which is dedicated to Devi Gayatri, Savitri and Savitu. Many saints such as Swami Vivekananda described that chanting Gayatri Mantra will help us to propel our minds in good ways.

There are a lot of meters and parameters in the Sanskrit language but Gayatri is called the mother of Chhanda. Chhanda simply means Verse or Meters to scale mantra according to lyrics, grammar, music and others. In the Vedic Culture and Ancient times, Every morning, it was a ritual to chant Gayatri Mantra. Not because it is beautiful to chant, but because it is very meaningful and gives practical benefits.

भू - BHU - the physical world or earth
