Groove N Move

Fresh from his return from Red Bull Music Academy Montreal and spreading his unique brand of melodies all over the globe, Ketan Bahirat is all set to release his debut EP ‘Tribes’ under his solo project Oceantied.

‘Tribes’, which has been in the works for two years, takes inspiration from Bahirat’s views of the world around him. Polished with lessons from Bahirat’s experience at the Red Bull Music Academy, ‘Tribes’ promises to be a listening delight for music lovers, genre no bar. From new age footwork and jungle, eclectic electronic beats made through found sound to recordings on Indian streets and samples from field recordings, ‘Tribes’ has it all.

A groovy epiphany from Oceantied’s bedroom studio, ‘Let You Go’ encapsulates the emotion of moving on from melancholy to a state of inner discovery. A liberation from being held back within oneself from attempting the new. Filled with smooth chords and lush melodies that create an almost-blissful atmosphere and a percussive groove, this track is immersive with stunning visuals of a less explored world. Feels much like letting yourself out of a bubble. Produced in collaboration with Red Bull Music and directed by Bosco BB.

Oceantied brings a new series of EP's inspired by the past few years of DJ-ing on club floors. The first volume is a collection of 3 heavy-hitters in the 130-135 BPM space. Expect heavy 808's, sub frequencies and locally sourced sounds all merging into 3 volumes of tracks.

Luru was created after a day of sound-sourcing around the streets of Bengaluru and the track represents the grind of every day life in Bengaluru condensed into 3 minutes of groovy rhythms.
