Growing up, L-Dixon was the geeky kid that stunned his classmates with his ability to rhyme and deploy jaw-dropping punchlines. After performing in his second talent show in high school, however, he was confronted by classmates telling him to dumb down his lyrics because the other kids would never get it. While still believing in his own ability, he was mistakenly led to believe he was misapplying his intelligence and that hip hop should be nothing more than a hobby. For the next few years, his pen was only lifted in boredom, as he received an education at Virginia Tech, hoping to work in the video game industry.

Before his senior year of college L-Dixon underwent a transformation of mind. Going from a straight edge, to experimenting with psychedelics, from a militant atheist, to a spiritual explorer, from politically uninterested, to passionate activist. This revolution of thought left him with an insatiable thirst for knowledge and an undeniable desire to share this new vision. Music is the weapon. And so he brushed off his old broad sword of a pen, and dropped out of college to pursue the only journey worth pursuing, to fight the only fight worth fighting, and to contribute to the world the best way he saw fit. To use the gifts he once took for granted.
