Finland's heavy bass badman Rico Tubbs makes his triumphant return to Party Like Us Records with Deadly Sound, a bassline hurricane of an EP that's tinged with jungle vibes and a fat, bouncing low end. Four-to-the-floor riddims and vintage ragga samples drive the record at a breakneck pace, bringing bassline squarely back into focus. Alongside the title track's thunderous, crunchy groove, "Champions" is an intentional nod to the past with its classic UK rave breakbeats and ethereal pads, while "Mad Rough" is aimed directly towards the future, an upbeat and dynamic roller that's soaked in menacing synths and frenetic breaks.

Passenger Records continue their recent high pressure release schedule with a remix package of last years highly acclaimed Rico Tubbs & The Ragga Twins collaboration 'Rule Dancehall' 
The original release rode high in both store charts & DJ's crates. 

First up on remix duties, Genetix & OSLO are called to the mount to smash a massive D&B refix out the park! Gentetix return to their Drum & Bass roots, ably aided by OSLO for this wobble bass & jungle drums workout. 
Next up, bastion of bass, Jay Robinson drops a Bassline Garage roller to cool things down a little, before the man himself, Rico Tubbs ends out the proceedings with a melodic Warehouse remix that invokes the spirit of 88. 

All the remixes here also come in instrumental form for your ease of play. 

This release also signals the forthcoming Genetix & OSLO collaboration single on Passenger in the coming months.

Today we’re lucky enough to be premiering what someone in the office just referred to as a ‘serious nugget.’ Yeah, OK, so that person was me. And yes, I did say it to myself, in my head, after listening to it over and over again; but the fact remains and it is what it is. The Critical Music signed drum & bass producer, Emperor’s'She Said VIP’ – which will be exclusively available from the Critical store this Monday – is superlatively frenetic, heaving it’s way out of the rousing build up introduction with the sort of lurching industrial bassline that’ll set most dancefloors afire. The full Into Black EP will be released on vinyl and digital this coming Monday, but we’re toasting the publication of the EP’s pre-order link here today because it ties in nicely with the fact that we recently announced the next Critical Sound date (10th July) where you’ll be able to witness Emperor going B2B with The Upbeats.
