For episode 466 we stay in Australia! This episode brings us mix from a favorite producer of mine, Kloke!

Before we get episode 466 I'm going to highlight some of my favorite Kloke tunes: Artificial Memories, Other Worlds, Tuff Luv, Future Dayz, The Vents, and Lagoon!

Kloke's mix is a mid-90's vibe, absolute, bang on atmospheric beauties in this one! Kloke crushed this mix! You'll all love this one!

Let's meet our dj for episode 466:
Growing up in the south of England, Andy Donnelly aka Kloke got into Jungle/d&b during the golden era of the mid-90s, religiously taping Fabio, Grooverider, Bukem, Randall, JJ Frost etc each week on Kiss FM, attending the now legendary Metalheadz Blue Note sessions and gradually building up a proud collection of 12”s.

With a background in live music, the pull of production was inevitable and with a newly acquired Akai sampler Andy set about trying to mimic the strange sounds emanating from the late night airwaves.

After moving to NZ in 2005, Andy discovered the dubbed out sounds of Kode 9, Digital Mystikz and Burial and soon after the Kloke moniker was born. By now based in Melbourne, Australia, early attempts to fuse the new South London sound with the future
soundscapes of Detroit techno earned him kudos and DJ support from the likes of Martyn, Skream and Mr Scruff.

Around 2017 after a long break from making anything resembling Jungle, Kloke fired up the Akai and started messing around with breakbeats with an emphasis on having fun. Releases soon followed on Diamond Life, Fresh 86, Future Retro, TempoCore  and Unknown To The Unknown with a forthcoming EP on Run It Red.

Kloke's music is a perfect blend of atmospherics, melody and dancefloor riddims with a 360° view of Jungle's past, present and future.

It's a special welcome for Laurent Garnier in our 25th Anniversary slot, who last featured on the show back in 2005. His mix takes us on a journey through his Soundtrack collection and laced with dialog throughout. It opens with epic strings courtesy of Morton Gould and into Blixa Bargeld and Nick Cave's original score for Ghosts of the Civil Dead. Then it's Herbie Hancock from 'Round Midnight', David Holmes from Ocean's Eleven and Lalo Schiffrin from Enter the Dragon.
