It is Monday the 22nd of December 2014 and we have new guests for the very first time on the CLR Podcast. The Kiev-based duo Woo York has come a long way from being Ukraine capital’s local heroes to becoming an internationally recognized live act with their own signature sound. They are not only residents of legendary Glaswegian label Soma Records and head honchos of Planet Rhythm, they have also been delivering one dance floor killer after another since the start of their career back in 2009. Known for their energetic live acts, Woo York combine experimental, dance floor oriented and avant-garde elements into a highly improvisational musical flow with a strong hardware background. The entire music in this set is performed and improvised live during one of their recent gigs and contains two tracks from their upcoming debut 5 tracker EP on Life & Death called The Valley of Songs.

Experiencing the Playa at night is the quintessential Burning Man experience. The untamed energy, the chaos, the sensory overload, the cacophony of sounds coming at you from all angles, all mixed with the extreme weather conditions the desert throws at you - it is pure pandemonium in the best sense of the word. It made me feel small and insignificant - in a good way. As my ego faded I more and more felt at one with my surroundings, ready to love and contribute.  As I started playing the bus pulled out of the camp. A surreal scene that reminded me of the Pied Piper unfolded - hordes of burners following the iconic heart into the open desert. But where I had anticipated the Robot Heart set to be a big "me" - moment, it felt quite like the opposite - just adding my small voice to this large and beautiful orchestra that is Burning Man. And that is how pretty much my entire first Burning Man experience went. And it's exactly this what makes it the best place in the world.

Nicolás Bornia aka Farceb one of the new emerging figures from the techno music scene in Argentina, and considered as one of the best DJs/producers of his country in recent years.
He began his career a few years ago by taking his first steps in the musical production. His influences come from both the old and the new school, shaping his unique musical style, which goes against the codes. He is able to provide a unique experience full of personality, transmitting different atmospheres and sensations in his tracks as well as in his sessions.
In 2013 he released his first track on a compilation of various artists for the Mexican label Sequencer Prototype. Shortly after, he made his debut at the legendary club Cocoliche in Buenos Aires, alongside Oscar Mulero (oficial), one of the greatest figures of the global techno scene. In 2014, he took part of the new Argentine label called Orióni, editing his first track on vinyl with other Argentine artists as Mental Resonance, Pulse One, Luis Ruiz and Jonas Kopp.
Lately he definitely found his own musical vision that characterizes him: a powerful and hypnotic techno. In 2016, he released two EP “Signal From Space” on MindTripRec and “Phase Modulation” on ＡＲＴＳ. However 2018 announces a new turning point of his career with his first European Tour and a release on the label Pole Group.

My name is Simone Giovannetti, I'm 22 years old, I was born and grew up in Terni a city placed in the center of Italy and distant 100 km from Rome.
I have always loved music since i was small and the first instrument i learned to play was the drums for about 4 years.
With time I started getting more and more passionate about electronic music and going to clubs and rave parties in Rome.
So I started listening to techno and it struck me immediately because it has a way of uniting people who come from completely different worlds and I saw a form of spirituality through dancing it which can bring people in a state of deep meditation sharing the same energy and conscience. About three years ago I started making my own music, at first I tried many different ways to produce in order to understand what would work and what not, after finding a good method I started developing my sound.
I'm very influenced by the roman deep techno artists, like Giorgio Gigli, Luigi Tozzi, Feral and Brando Lupi. I like a lot to stay in nature to find my inspiration, I need silence to make music and take the distance from the city helps me a lot, fortunately my hometown, Terni, it’s surrounded by low mountains so it’s very easy to find a beautiful place to contemplate the nature. When i make music i’m very impulsive and I try to leave room to the intuition, in this way making music became a kind of meditation where there is no room for my thoughts and everything flows trough myself and my instruments. I like to combine hardware and software to find my sound, in this moment to produce i use a lot the reaktor’s user library, an analog rytm, a waldorf blofeld, very good for pads and textures, and an old tr 606.

Ray Kajioka is a german Techno producer, remixer, DJ, Live Act since 1995, based in Berlin. ODD EVEN PRESENTS 029 - Ray Kajioka

Jon Hester got his start in the midwest US, living in Chicago, Minneapolis, and connecting with Detroit. After years on the dance floor he took to the decks, going on to work in a record shop, host his own events, and hold residencies that developed his sound. Music production and a move to Berlin followed, but dancing and mixing are still the inspirations that drive him to create. His DJ sets are built on physical rhythms and adventurous programming, effortlessly combining diverse varieties of techno and house. With an engaging presence and a knack for telling a story, he builds a unique connection with each audience, and works any room until it sweats.
