This is my DJ set from the Spiralkater event at Kater Blau. After my last years gig there at the Acid Bogen Stage, I had to play a single session for 3:30 hours from 23:55 until 03:30 pm at the famous Hopper floor. For me a premiere.

I've always wanted to play on this floor and was totally excited about the opportunity beforehand. Of course, I was also a little nervous. After all, I opened the floor and the clubnight with a little break after the bands had played. But when the first sounds rang out, I was drawn in. The floor got more and more crowded. The people were more extatic and full of joy. It was a total pleasure for me to see that the crowd not only liked my kind of faster music, but also more experimental pieces worked. All around a gig to enjoy and remember.

Thanks for all the smiling faces and the dancing ecstasy on the floor.  Will come back for sure.

Martinou has built a distinct sound, blending deep, atmospheric textures with intricate rhythms to form a soundscape that is both immersive and emotionally evocative. After having Martinou to play a closing set at Borisov for our Far Blue x Pintai event earlier this year, we could only look forward to the next time we would be able to share his music with you. An artist who truly pushes the boundaries with the tracks he produces and the mixes he puts together. 'ecotone' captures his essence of Far Blue, crafted entirely from his own creations.

"an ecotone is an area where two biological biomes meet and blend into each other. one biome may extend further into the other at one point and the lines can easily blur; where does one biome end and the other start? this is a recording of what i’ve come to uncover from my mind and record whilst in my innermost haven. like the ecotone, the music is always flowing, ever changing."

We’re excited to share the Far Blue perception of Zürich-based Serenne with you today. After catching her live this summer, we were pulled in by the way she blends lush, dreamy sounds with darker moods. While keeping things subtle and immersive, she brings that same energy and depth to this one-hour mix.

“I recently had a conversation with Ben Kaczor, who mentioned an artist I hadn’t heard of before: Hilma af Klint, a Swedish visionary whose work immediately spoke to something inside me. Touched by her paintings, I printed two of her blue-hued pieces — The Ten Largest, No. 1 (1907) and Childhood and Primordial Chaos (1906–1907) — hung them above my setup, and started recording this one-take mix, letting myself drift into the world they opened.

But as I listened back, I found myself entering something else entirely — something that goes beyond those paintings — something deeper, something that transforms. A space beyond sight. That’s where the journey begins for me. And I hope that, for whoever listens, it becomes something personal too. Maybe even a small doorway to something deeper, something invisible… just as Hilma found through her art.

This mix also features beautiful tracks from many dear friends — I feel grateful for each of their creations.”
