Originally released back in 2019, Dense & Pika’s ‘Apache’ was a prime-time slab of taut techno, effervescing with ferocious energy and lethal grooves.

A bumper set of remixers have been assembled to revisit, deconstruct and rebuild this pumper, with a stellar line up of some of techno’s most promising hopes.

Nusha, Marie Vaunt, Akoriz and Anna Unusyan all turn in distinguished remixes, taking ‘Apache’ to new levels that echo each of the remixers individual sounds.

Contempo is an uncompromising record label thatallows Luigi Madonna to show off the more underground side of his sound, and the new release is an imprintdebut from Marc Faengerwho’s a German artistthatearly in his career wassigned to Richie Hawtin’s record label M_NUS.

Marc Faenger’searlyminimal releases propelledhimonto the international stage, and opened the door for him to DJ at places like Fabric, Sisyphos, Fuse and more. In the following years Marc Faenger’s tracks gottougher and more aggressive, as he movedtowards up-tempo techno releases on labels suchasIllegal Alien Records and hisown Shed Skin.

“Opal” opens the release with retellingpercussionrhythms and a booming kick drumthatform a foundation for rolling industrial textures thatripple with modulation. “Triple Threat” is a percussive track with flowingpercussion and tense atmosphere and rumbling sub-bass. “Zinn” is a hypnotic track with buzzing synths and judderingpercussionthat’s heavy enough to make the walls shake. “Probe” closes out the release with brutalpercussion and gritty sound design that’sshrouded in trippyatmospherics.
