From its early days, Molecular has been synonymous with quality underground techno music. The label has a reputation for releasing material from respected and established artists in the scene, including prominent names such as Claude Young, Jeroen Search, Oliver Ho, Mr G, and Kelly Hand. Molecular has also been instrumental in discovering and promoting new talent, with several emerging artists making their debut on the label. DJ Bone's first-ever release was on Molecular, Similarly, Inigo Kennedy, another talented producer, released his first-ever record on a label on the Molecular label. Molecular was also the first UK label to release the music of Chris Liebing, The label's support for both established and emerging artists has helped establish it as a highly influential and respected record label within the underground techno scene. Today, Molecular continues to promote new talent from the current generation of artists, including Linear System, Mal Hombre, Flaws, and Ma Haiping, among others.
Molecular means cutting-edge techno, evolving with the time, but concentrating on releasing good quality music, proud of being open to new talents and featuring some of the most innovative sounds. The label has since expanded, releasing some excellent debuts and special releases. In addition to its regular releases, the label also re launched a series called "The XX Series," which features no track names and is essentially a deeper branch of Molecular, allowing established techno names to experiment further to the forefront of Techno.
Molecular Recordings' success is in large part due to its founder's vision and passion for music. Marco Lenzi's extensive experiences in the industry and his dedication to his craft have made him a respected figure in the techno world. Closed Eyes Recordings delivers stories through sound. With these stories, we want to create an impactful experience for our listeners. We believe meaningful stories help you guide you through the highs and lows in life. Stories like this are the most valuable for us in a piece of music. It’s this music that makes you close your eyes and experience the most beautiful thing in life: being.

What we aim for
Closed Eyes Recordings releases only those records resonate with your deeper feelings. We aim to release an artist’s most personal work; music that has a deeply special meaning for them. This could be a passed away loved one, an exciting memory of their youth or any other meaningful feeling or thought they get when listening to their work.

In our vision, the only valuable criticism stems from the feeling a record evokes among its listeners. Those who try to single-handedly evaluate music by rationally overanalysing it, miss the purpose of music itself: extricate emotions.

What we look for
The sound should never be perfect because life isn’t perfect itself. 
We love raw, vintage and imperfect sounds, and yes we are suckers for the melody. Unexpectedness is key within our sound and we prefer simplicity over complexity. Music is a feeling, not an equation.

London-based DJ, Nick Spencer - known more commonly as oddSock or The Sonic Architect - has been gaining traction in the UK in recent years, with his dynamic and eclectic taste in music. 

oddSock is upfront about his personal struggle to define and follow one stylistic direction, and pinpoints his discovery of WUITW (Warm Up in the Woods: a series of underground outdoor/warehouse events) as a turning point in his recent career. This emotional approach to electronic music - driven by melodic techno, electronica, and emotive trance - filled a particular void that had existed throughout his musical journey. 

Somebody listening to a typical oddSock set today, can expect to be taken on an adventure of blissful, euphoric melodies, juxtaposed with intelligent rhythms and powerful baselines.

oddSock excelled musically at an academic level, achieving his degree in Digital Music from Southampton Solent University in 2014. During this formational time, he performed in a variety of clubs across the country, including Fire (London), Mo’s Warehouse (Southampton), The Pyramids (Portsmouth) and Basement 45 (Bristol). He has also held DJ residencies in his University city and current home city. These public appearances have run without fail against a backdrop of legendary, music-centric house parties.

2017 looks equally promising. oddSock is now part of a new monthly show in Southampton, Fractals on The Goat Shed, and is planning a series of events, hinting at his very own woodland rave, curated alongside DJing sidekick, Dave Hall. 

And for the remainder of the year? oddSock aims to get on the 2017 festival circuit, and will be working on new production projects, both with a hope of sharing his highly capable and compelling  sounds with a broadened group of listeners.
