Paula's energetic sound is mirrored across her own productions (with releases on Rhythm Section, Permanent Vacation, Planet Trip Records and more), as well as her radio shows on Worldwide FM and Milan's Radio Raheem and we're excited to be welcoming her to Dimensions this summer with a debut appearance for our 10th anniversary celebrations.

But music manages to provide us with an amalgamation of both that is quite unique, involving the sensorial, emotional and rational dimensions of our beings by fusing everything in an irresistible flux of energy and steering it collectively is what a DJ does. By molding moods through sounds, a selector creates the desired effects on the dancefloor, fostering moments of delight that will become indelible from our hearts and minds. And this special prowess is something our guest Rigo knows quite well how to perform with richly selected and masterfully crafted mixes such as this one. They ooze of the passion that someone truly dedicated to the promotion and protection of our beloved traditions of musical enjoyment and sharing. The same he devotes to all his residencies, be it on the superbly diverse LYL Radio or the wonderfully cozy Satriale back in his native Lyon, but one that becomes especially evident in the work of his carefully curated Be There or Be Square YouTube channel.

Gop Cast 086 - RIGO

Hollering from the deep south of New Zealand a sound is pumping through the Earth, all the way through to Europe via Munich, then to Berlin and now its travelling to the UK and beyond. That sound is the Big Beat Manifesto. A sound that Mr. Eden Burns has produced to us over 6 volumes and all pressed to wax via the loving hand of Public Possession. This cross over of addictive club sonics and balearic undertones has seen the likes of Solomun, Jennifer Cardini, Jamie Tiller, Huge DJ Party Alerts, Gerd Janson and more taking various systems worldwide for the test drive of their lives with these sounds. Aside from producing these melodies Eden has deemed himself quite the DJ with Boiler Room(a personal favorite of ours), club and festival appearances galore. For this mix Eden picks some of his favorite club cuts but guides us through an hour which seems to be a summary of a set that could easily go into the 4 hour mark. A fine calling card. We had a quick chat with Eden about what hes been up to a little about the mix:

Phonica Mix Series 98: Eden Burns

Fantastic Man has become one of the most exciting and revered producers on the circuit having released music on the likes of Mule, Love on the Rocks and Kitjen. He is also the founder of Superconscious Records alongside Griffin James.

As a DJ his musical taste is broad and wide ranging, drawing upon far reaching influences from the realm of House, Trance, Downtempo, Balearic and beyond. As such you never quite know what you are going to get but that's all part of the fun right?

Most recently he has been dabbling in a fast paced, new age approach to House and Trance - channeling the free spirited energy of the 90's and a sun kissed era for dance music.

Some might feel it to be nostalgic but he is very much at the forefront of a new wave of producers and DJ's looking to breathe life into and reinvigorate the sound.

This mixtape is one of the best we've heard in a while and is rightly suited to a Friday.
