mia&moa is a Brazilian DJ-duo electronic music project taken as the epitome of a resourceful fringed work without adequate apparatus. Two minds: a fearless mixer with a crumbling computer and a visionary YouTube sonic-collector. By always chasing unlabelable music in a simple and approachable style, over a non-linear narrative strategy, mia&moa' selections are twisting the cult sounds of 90-00's era through time and space and telling in your face that genres aren't that trick if you focus in a cohesive vibe.

This mixtape is a creative and humorous manner that we've found to reconstruct e reconnect to a certain period of our childhood, the carnival revelry - one of the liveliest popular festivals and representative of Brazilian culture. In our hometown, there was a street block called 'Maria Giriza', in which men dressed in feminine adornments and also used animalistic references, scaring children and gathering members and supporters along the way. The event caused some shivers due to the intense characterization and the fervent beats, this is the context of the 130min selection for 'https://soundcloud.com/slowpunch', we hope you can feel a little of that time through this storytelling.

What happened from midnight at EVOL is impossible to describe with words. From his very first track, David seemed to flip a switch and people became primal and wild and completely free. And what unfolded over the next 90 minutes was something that none of us had ever experienced at a rave and something that may never happen again. Perhaps it is something that can only happen when 150 friends and friends of friends are together in a perfect environment where the energy is just right and everyone loses themselves in the music.
This was David Mears' first DJ set, having played live for the last five years. He curates something so distinctive and so perfect you can't quite believe what you're hearing.
