PREMIERE: B From E - Garden Of E... [Buddahood]

Galaxy 82 is a new alias from Scotland; forging a new sound to which you may reminisce of a bygone era, waiting around phone boxes trying to work out where the nearby rave was happening. Galaxy 82 reflects on this time with their debut single ‘Equinox’ featuring J Farrukh.
Working under a new alias, Galaxy 82 has been an active producer in the dance scene for many years, kicking off their career back in the early 90’s and has secured major label deals with past projects. 

This track is an expedition of rave. Dripping in authenticity, ‘Equinox’ captures the greatest decade of dance - the 90s. It’s layered synths, zestful bass progressions and fluttering electro tinged melodies make for electrifying listening. The unquestionable powerhouse vocals of Joy Farrukh [J Farrukh], are on display throughout this rave voyage nestled expertly between the breakbeat rhythms and syncopated staccato piano. Choruses of reveling ravers break into a cacophony of cheering and shouting before a dynamic hip-hop breakdown.  
‘Equinox’ by definition describes the point of time where the plane of the Earth’s equator passes through the geometric centre of the Sun’s disk. These moments are a rarity, much like this track

Cabasa is set to appear on the first EP from the newly launched imprint, nacht. Based in Leuven, Belgium - nacht has thus far been a small party showcasing diy electronic music from locals and international guests. Now they are set to launch their own record label, channeling sounds which represent the party and their perspectives.

Chilean producer Massiande returns with another record on Phonica’s family of labels, with his new ‘Through The Walls’ EP landing on the deep house focused Karakul imprint this time round. 

Since his well-received ‘Freedom EP’ on Phonica White, Massiande has had a string of strong releases on Freerange, No Fuss and Midnight Riot, adding to an already formidable back-catalogue including 12”s for Housewax and M>O>S. 

‘Through The Walls’ may be his most accomplished project to date, with the level of production at a particular high, ranging from the crisp, punchy title track to the submerged dub techno of ‘Dub At The Beach’ and on to the melodic beauty of ‘I Remember When I First Met You’. He rounds the 12” off with ‘New Life’, another new classic sounding like a rediscovered anthem from yesteryear. We can see this 12” lingering in record bags for quite some time!

Vienna, Austria’s Jon Gravy delivers his second album this May, entitled ‘MMXX’, composed over the past two years and comprised of seven original compositions, several of which feature collaborating artists such as DXDX, Jill and Anna Buchegger.

Over the past few years Jon Gravy’s raw and hazy electronic style has seen him unveil material on the likes of Blaq Numbers, Rough Recordings, Pets Recordings and his own Step Back Trax, piquing the interest of the likes of Cinthie, Demuja and KETTAMA along the way. Here though he delivers his latest long player via his own Gravy Trax, a seven- track collection which traverses through breaksy electronica, warm deep house and spacey electro.

Leading the album is ‘MMXX earth’, fuelled by fluttering synth chords and vocal chants alongside airy pads, bumpy broken drums and elongated subs. ‘Close To You’ follows and sees Gravy collaborate with DXDX to deliver a cinematic composition driven by emotive vocals, soaring strings, gnarly bass and 2-step drums. ‘Hold Us feat. Jill’ follows next and shifts focus on bubbling arpeggios and dynamic drum breaks and intricately processed ethereal vocals. The third collaboration is up next, featuring Anna Buchegger and entitled ‘Sunrise’, as the name would suggest the delicate synth work, sweeping vocals and ravey arps make for a perfect early hour’s workout.

‘Thoughtful Hours’ then shines a light on a more electro leaning influence via crunchy 808’s, resonant chords and winding resonant synths before ‘Keep Waitin’’ returns back to choppy drum work, filtered atmospherics and an amalgamation of cut up vocals. Lastly ‘Melt 2.73’ rounds out the release on a deep house tinged 4/4 tip, fusing organic drums and bumpy bass stabs with textural voices, smooth pads and a circling lead line.

The tone is set from the off with the eponymously named first track of the release 'An Ode To Midnight'. The tracks mellow break beat feel is met by warm rushing pads, ebbing and flowing between textures of the night before last.

After an absence of 6 months, Imported Recordings celebrates his return and comes back to his first love, presenting "Volupté Amère", an EP featuring their vision of house music: a multifaceted music tailored to ambience crowds in clubs, vacationers at the beach, and family at home.

After releasing a last EP "Vague Aléatoire" in 2018, this new opus sounds like a return to the roots.

The EP offers a first "guest" side with two tracks from the demos we receive during the year. The first one, signed Martin Alix, is an ode to the dancefloor that will bring together fans of powerful bass and strong beats. The second track, deeper, is signed by the Italian Steve Hammer, and shines by the efficiency of his extended break that quickly plunges the audience into a state of trance.

The second side is worn by artists from the big Imported family. On the B-side opening is a nugget that could already be described as a classic house signed Major League House, a melancholic track carried by a piano that takes you straight to your guts. Another talent of the house, Matthieu Faubourg gives us the pleasure to sign, just like MLH, a first track on the label. Evolutive and club oriented track, we recognize in "Swell" the characteristic paw of the French producer in this heady track which rhymes with rise in pressure and explosion.
