A producer with 20 years of experience perfecting his craft, we’re excited to welcome Ramon Tapia to Drumcode for his debut EP.

The artist previously contributed a pair of cuts to the A-Sides series in recent years with ‘Sonic Therapy’ and Drum Control’, while also playing the Drumcode stage at Tomorrowland in 2019. Elsewhere he’s dropped heat on Truesoul, led by the crisp groover ‘Manipulate’. His ascension to Drumcode for his first full-fledged solo EP release is richly deserved.  

As with so many during the past year, Tapia’s taken his studio work in colourful and interesting directions. ‘The Future of Mankind’ is a multi-faceted beast. The title track is a straight-up weapon, driven by an ascendent riff that’s energetic and hopeful in equal doses. ‘Song of Sirens’ sees ambient pads and rolling percussion combine for a quality cut every DJ needs. ‘Screwdriver’ does what it promises on the tin; guttural and textured, it’s a necessary transitional tool for every techno set. ‘Hold On’ is the kind of emotion charged dance music that’ll make us go collectively weak at the knees when raving returns. We’re already excited to hear it rinsed at Drumcode Festival in Malta this September, when Tapia joins the party.

A Day in the Life - is the first chapter of a dedicated
series fully curated by Steve Bicknell for KR3.
This bold new work by the veteran English artist provides
an insight into the mind of the artist.
Side A features three tracks by The Evader, another face
of Steve Bicknell.
An obscure intro leads us straight to the point: 4/4 sounds,
repetitive and hypnotic, not afraid to be heavy. In fact,
that's the point: to take everything that is a burden to us
and embrace it. After all, there can be no light without
darkness.
On Side B, Steve Bicknell has a killer approach. A parallel
rail to Side A, with a more furious, still gloomy approach.
He moves in the same direction but vents different
emotions. The sound is harder, rawer, faster and more
impetuous.
An outro ends the EP, as if to represent a circle closing:
The first lap inside A Day in the Life.

OECUS Premiere | The Evader - A Day In The Life 01 [KR3.005]

Sam Paganini is back with the brand new double album “Light + Shadow” in October 2021. The fantastic 12 track concept is his fourth full length after 2020's Reflections and is split into two halves, Light and Shadow, with each showcasing different sides to his sound. 
This innovative format is a way for the artist to dig even deeper and cook up different moods and grooves for different settings.
The first single comprising 2 tracks (one from the "Light" record and one from "Shadow" are 'Bianca', which is dedicated to Sam's daughter, who was a newborn at the time it was written and is now seven months old, a track filled with emotion, gorgeously uplifting with airy pads and heavenly chords as well as an aching vocal that hangs above the silky breakbeats, and "One" a raved up cuts with its fizzing bass and cantering drums.

Like a beat up stroboscope slamming into a Walt Disney number, raggedy abstracted cartoonish characters are pumped, plumped & squashed into the adhoc scenery. A tree is now a paint tube or maybe a shoe horn but only because it has to be until it isn't, or maybe it never will be for you. Very filmy, sometimes flimsy and on occassion chunky; presenting to you, actual variety. Definitely not a tidy digital affair...you can hear the tape bias deep breathing & hasty splices popping with an immediacy that does not waste time to tinker. Shattered bronze becomes the glue, the glue becomes your dinner companion as well as the plate & window seat. Not unlike a Goldilocks and the Three Bears scenario, depending on your moody attention span, you may find certain characteristics to be too something or not enough something but perhaps just right. Open for interpretation & again for re-interpretation - this monument gives what you take."
